Agree, when they did the tango they both were pouting, it was a weird dance, Craig said as much and each dance that has followed is just as weird and creepy. Scott is odd but i find Joanne's dance routines equally odd.

He's been allocated the "comedy contestant" role and he's not suited for it. Karen Hardy on ITT said he's "cool" funny not "comic" funny, and basically the producers have got it wrong. I'm not surprised he didn't wear the crab hat last week, that must have been a step too far! I await Karen's choreography corner this week with interest!

I don't get why he is supposedly asking his mates to vote for him if he is miserable though. Not that I would have wished him on her, but I would have been interested to see how Natalie would have coped with him. Yes, Tim went this week but he seemed to enjoy the experience. Was this all down to Tim's attitude or is Natalie good at making poor dancers enjoy the experience more? She did a great job with Michael Vaughn.
On a side note I hope Natalie gets a contender next year!

The fact that he could matter of factly talk about his partner, name check him and have him shown in the audience as his partner was actually a big thing, without anything else (and he would probably have got Anton anyway - so rock meet hard place)

Really, Scott - and Judy - are, as the judges like to trot out, what the show is all about. Absolute beginners learning to dance. The fact they aren't learning as fast as the judges would like and have very little natural aptitude is neither here nor there. The fact that they know they are not natural, know they are going to be bottom of the leaderboard before they have gone out to perform and know they have another couple of weeks to go must actually be crushing. The fact that Scott has had/is having to battle against the fact that to the Strictly Powers-that-Be if you can't be good, be slapstick when that isn't you either is worse. You don't have to have much self awareness to see a sparkly crab costume to know whereabouts you are in the Strictly pecking order

Even Craig has said he always said anyone could be taught to dance, but Scott has proved him wrong.

Even his colleague Chris Moyles has said he want him to stay in so he can laugh at him - that's not nice.

He said he thought he was going to be sick during the announcements on who was staying/going. It would be a kindness to him for him to go, so I do hope those who keep voting to keep him in stop doing it.

I love Scott and want him to go soon, he's clearly gutted by how crap he is and its just uncomfortable to watch.

But I do feel I have to comment about Scott, I am completely staggered that there have been no threads or posts that claim any of those celebrities in the bottom 2 have been 'ripped off' cos I am afraid as long as Scott is in SCD then those who are sent home will always have been ripped off IMHO, if I have missed mentions of Greg, Jennifer or Tim being harshly treated by being voted off then I apologise, but don't get to be around here as much as I would like. Or did I miss the memo/edict/threats from mods about NOT going off on one when a favourite is dumped, and using such language then again I apologise.

But since week 1 Scott has been so far and away the most dismal celeb, that I am staggered he has not been in the bottom 2.

I have read comparisons with Paul Daniels and Tony Jacklin, who are both remember a lot older than he is, but I am afraid it is time to give Scott Mills the ultimate Strictly insult, he is the new Chris Parker.. Yes I think he is that bad.

It's up to the public now - for every week that Scott and Judy stay in a better dancer will go. If they manage to avoid the dance-off it will make it very competitive for the two couples who are forced to compete as a result of being less popular with the GBP.

I agree with much of what you say. Every Saturday I feel sorry for him - particularly the crab week - unfortunately my sympathy wanes when he then starts asking his 'followers' to vote for him. If he really is as unhappy as he looks why dosn't he just stop asking? I do wonder about Joannes choreography and whether he would have been better with someone else - who knows?!
The difference between Scott and Judy is that she obviously is enjoying herself, has a good working relationship with Anton - and even shows signs of improvement. All that makes her more enjoyable/comfortable to watch.

I suspect as Aggs says it is all scripted, the BBC did not know when he started quite how uncoordinated he would turn out to be, but the scripted nature of his radio 1 show means he has to ask for votes, when really you can see he would rather be anywhere else than on SCD

I think this is a really unfair criticism. What is he SUPPOSED to do? Say, "I really hate this experience. I can't do the dancing. I can't do the camp stuff either. I really want to leave this show because it's giving me a dreadful time."

He's a BBC employee. He's signed a contract with the show. He's not going to try to make his employer's flagship light entertainment show look bad or less than welcoming or produced against competitor wishes.

And can you imagine the backlash if he DID actually say something like that? He'd be crucified as churlish and obnoxious.

He's playing the game, as he's contracted to do. That's all. I think his would be the biggest sigh of relief if he was actually voted off. Until then, he's got to at least put up some kind of a show - and sadly, it's a show we can see he's entirely unsuited for, both in the dancing and the camp pantomime aspects.

The other thing that has occurred to me is that perhaps, as an out gay celebrity who actually isn't a camp stereotype, he doesn't like being shoved into the Russell Grant slot. If I were him, I wouldn't fancy being shot out of a cannon either.

I feel sorry for Scott. It seems clear that his was a bad casting. No reflection on him or the show really, just one of those things. I hope he's released from his misery soon.

I don't think I've seen a dancer like Scott before. Usually the rubbish ones are funny but with Scott hes rubbish and boring and uncomfortable to watch.

Although having said that it is good to shake up the ego's of boy band members and reality tv stars that they aren't as popular as they think!

It is his agent's fault for not giving him a veto on costumes.

BIB Just not ask people on his twitter to vote for him! He can talk about the show without even mentioning voting. He may be scripted to ask on his radio show - but if not then don't ask on there either. It isn't a question of either begging for votes or saying "I really hate this experience. I can't do the dancing. I can't do the camp stuff either. I really want to leave this show because it's giving me a dreadful time." there is a middle ground. IF he really wants to leave the show (and I don't know if he does or not but certainly gives that impression) he should no do more than he absolutely has do under his contract. IF he wants to stay then fair enough just carry on as he is!

week 1 and his cha cha, he seems to happy to be dancing but by week 4 and his American Smooth he looked positively miserable.........

I'm so pleased Scott is doing badly and not enjoying it. It is karma for the horrible way he spoke about people on ITT last year, particularly Natalie. He gave a lot of stick about her because she was so good.

The best thing that he did on Saturday was say 'he is doing exactly what he set out to do on Strictly'. Well, if making a complete c**k of yourself on live TV is exactly what he set out to do, then he has absolutely nailed it.

Honestly, I think he knows he is crap but is also quite petulant and doesn't take criticism well. People keep saying he is self depreciating but I haven't seen that on the show, but then again he does look genuinely petrified.

Shame to see anyone go before him, even Gregg was better. People on the SCD facebook page were very annoyed Tim went over him, which says something as he wasn't exactly Fred Astaire. But he could at least move a bit and was charming.

That's what I was wondering. I have absolutely no recollection of him ever being on the Friday panel, but a quick check back reveals he was on the same time as Ashley Banjo which explains it.

And if enough people had voted for Tim, he could have avoided the dance off as well. At the minute, neither Scott or Judy have taken out anyone who would have lasted beyond another week or so - and if a combination of Simon/Sunetra/Mark appear together in the dance of before either of them goes, then it means that - as of this week they are less popular than both Scott, Judy and Alison and so never really had a chance anyway.

Scott is in the position that whatever he does, he knows before he dances a step on Saturday night he is bottom of the leaderboard. He is going to be in the same place whether he does a week of training or not - and its to his credit that he is actually doing the training and trying to improve and it would be nice if that were acknowledged. Just because some of the others are improving faster does not make his effort less (in fact, his effort could be more than some even if the result isn't) and not to have that recognised must be smidge frustrating.

I still think it takes some sort of courage to be so nervous about doing something, to know you are bad at it, to know you are going to be ridiculed for it and yet still put the work in to improve. Compulsory corporate enjoyment, eh? Must be ... fun?
