EastEnders- Characters that DTC is not Interested In...
The following seem to be of little interest to DTC in my view, it would be interesting to see if the following would be getting a bigger profile under another EP.
Roxy, Cora, FatBoy, Donna, Dexter, Billy, Lola, Masood, Tamwar, Shabnam, Lee, Whitney, Les, |

I don't think he isn't interested in Roxy, Cora, Lee, Whitney, Les and the Masood's at all. They've all had something to do over the past year, excluding Les and the Masood's but they seem to both have something big coming up soon.
Characters like Dexter and Fatboy haven't been seen much this year since the actors were suspended, so it's hard to tell. Donna isn't a real character anyway, so it's hardly a surprise she's not been given much to do. The only characters that have been slightly ignored (for me) are Billy and Lola, and even then they've both had something to do with their involvement with Who Killed Lucy, Lola and Peter's relationship and Honey's return. |

the masoods and the cokers both have storylines coming up. billy not long since had one and roxy is in the middle of one with aleks
![]() not everyone can have big stories at the same time, everyone has to wait their turn. DTC has said everyone will get a chance to shine or something along those lines. if he didnt want those characters there he would of axed them |

I agree with Lola, she's probably a character he isn't interested in. It seemed like DTC was going around the cast list giving every character a few weeks of prominent screen time to keep the actor happy (Billy, Cora, Whitney, Denise, Patrick) and then dropping the character soon after.
Especially the latter two, Denise and Patrick, it seems like he doesn't have an idea what to do with them. It's like he threw the stroke at Patrick to give Rudolph something to do, and I'm not sure what Denise has got to do now she's gone from the Beales (although in the trailer and every time we've seen her since her split from Ian she's had alcohol in her hand - perhaps alcoholism?) |

Kat and Alfie! (SEVERELY underused this year)Stacey by the looks of it! Cora Billy (Poor thing, Perry Fenwick is brilliant!) - Billy has just been shoved into a few stories and is all over the place! The Masoods, when even is their 'big' storyline happening? And when the **** is Zainab gonna be brought back? |

I agree with Lola, billy, fatboy, dexter, Cora and whitney
Next year will hopefully be his Masood year with shabnam a secrets and before this year they did have a big few years. Roxy has atleast the aleks story going on and I'm sure he would of axed whitney by now if he had no interest in her. He brought in donna, les, lee and pam so he must have some sort of plan for them. He seems too heavily focused on a few characters such as linda, Sharon, Shirley, and Ian. He should really devide his attention a bit and develop others who have been overly neglected (masoods, cokers and donna) and characters who havenet ha anything to do recently (Lola, Liam, lee, Johnny and Nancy). I do feel he is forcing some character down our throats because they are among his favourite characters. |

Kat and Alfie have also not been ignored, they've got the fire storyline with Kat's burns at the minute, and they've had their twins. DTC said he was going to make Kalfie hit rock bottom to build them back up again, and that is basically what the year has done. Cora has been involved with the Carters, and has had her own story with Rainie coming back. She hasn't been ignored. The Masood's big storyline is coming up soon, and already this year we've had Bad Masood and the beginnings of Tamwar/Nancy. And to a Zainab return, hopefully never. She is seriously overrated. |

Billy wasn't 'shoved into a few stories' either - Honey came back to tell him she was moving away and he decided to take full responsibility of Janet because she needs special education in this country, and he was revealed to have argued with Lucy on the night she was killed. Pretty respectable year for a character who has been ignored for 2/3 years (with an exception for the live episode in 2012 with the Olympic torch - his only story in 2013 was getting involved with that gold digger for a week when he won on the horses).

Stacey hasn't been underused. She's being bedded back in, which is what was needed. They couldn't bring Stacey back and have her cry every episode, because that would be The Stacey Slater Show, and this is EastEnders. And this is coming from Stacey's biggest fan, as a character she needs this quieter period to show how she has matured.

She is seriously overrated. but I still stick with what I've said, instead of the Stacey Slater show, we've had the CARTER show. What the kalfie fire? The one that lasted a few episodes then they never appeared for weeks? Deposits being criminally underused all year apart from the start with Stacey's return. The Masoods didn't even appear over the summer tbh. Cora got a few weeks on screen with Rainie and now she's being do gritting about again!

A lot of the people mentioned are either involved in storylines, are have ones building in the background, it's like people purposely ignore characters just so they can say they're being underused, and usually they just do that so they can have a moan about the Carters.
The only one I've seen that I can actually agree with Lola, they seemed to be building her up to be one of the big leading roles before DTC joined and now she's barely seen. |

Usually when a character has barely been seen for months on end it tends to mean they are going to be axed. So Lola's place isn't looking very secure. Its odd she has been absent from all the Mitchell events. Is she supposed to be in the Square still or is she on a holiday? although who she could be visiting I have no idea, because with Ben back it seems odd we haven't had them interacting given Lexi is his daughter.

Yes, DTC clearly isn't interested in Cora. That will be why he's given her so many scenes with Timothy West and therefore his main creations, the Carters, and brought Rainie back for a few weeks.

Good post. Was she at Phil's wedding? I don't recall seeing her or Lexi at the wedding. It will be a shame if she's axed.

Nope she wasn't in the wedding episodes. It was strange not to see her because she was credited in the BBC cast lists but we didn't see her in the wedding at all.
