All these threads keep popping up about getting rid of the background characters such as dexter/fatboy and wanting development of Donna.

what I want to know is why no one is shouting from the rooftops about why Tracy has had no development as a character?

Tracy is an original Eastenders character and has been in the show since day 1.

This thread is ridiculously pathetic. The whole purpose of her character is an EXTRA! The actress knows that herself, we don't want a Tracy development, she's always been an extra, and development would ruin her character!

Like the poster above me, she's always been a minor character. Any development she gets is for comical purposes (Sean's weird relationship with her) - but I would like to see her have a few lines in the 30th - considering she was also in the show near the beginning like Ian, Sharon, Nick and Dot. From 2010-2012, she was also the only original character besides Ian still in the show!

I don't get your argument - are you arguing she should be axed or that she should be given a bigger role? She shouldn't be given a bigger role, she's always been 'Tracy the Barmaid' and she will stay that way, and she shouldn't be axed because there's no point.

Tracy is an EXTRA, the actress knows that, and she signs up for it, if she wasn't happy, she wouldn't of done it for almost 30 years, it would be nice for her to get some lines in the 30th and she probably will, but why should Tracy be shoved down our throats after 30 years of hardly saying anything?:/ I like the idea of her character and I think she's great, but still!

The point I am makng is that what you just wrote above, does not just apply to tracy and that the show is full of supporting/minor characters such as Tracy.

as one of the longest serving characters you never hear anyone saying, develop tracy bring in her family to bolster her up as I keep seeing with Donna. who has been brought in for market filler. I think she is winstons replacement because he doesn't appear anymore.

same as dexter. there for filler scenes and interaction yet he is labelled deadwood and to be axed. well surely tracy is deadwood then and should be axed.

I've always wished she'd get a storyline. I know she's an extra, but it'd be interesting for her to get one. Or maybe like a Lost-esque episode, when in iconic scenes, we see stuff from her perspective. Haha that'd cost a LOT of money though.
