Have any of you had a conversation with a random person about who?

i was in Primark with my mum on friday and i was telling her the signifigance of the Fez in Matts Era and the cashier asked if i was a Whovian i replied i was and he started chatting to about how he loves Tom Baker.

i thought i was really amazing how we just quickly got into conversation over the show

I had a conversation with a stranger on a train for nearly two hours about Doctor Who. It was lovely. This woman was nearly as enthusiastic as I am about it!

Yeah. Quite often.

I have a Doctor Who wallet so whenever I get it out to buy something any Whovisn behind the counter starts to chat.

Girl in Urban Outfitters got really excited and told me Arthur Darvill had been in a few days previously and she was sad as no one else got why she was fan girling.

Guy in our local shop asked me what I thought of Capaldi just the other day and we had a good long chat. Both agreed he is brilliant of course.

A woman at work I have never spoken to came up and asked me what I think of Capaldi the after the Robot of Sherwood episode. Apparently she used to talk to Gary about Doctor Who but he's left now so needs a new person to chat to. We now make a brew at the same time every Monday so we can have a natter. Every conversation has begun with "wow, that was amazing" since then.

My favourite (sort of conversation)and weirdest happened a few years ago. I was cycling on a Derbyshire cycle route that goes through an old railway tunnel that had a good echo. I did my best Tom Baker deep voiced "well it's an etheric beam locator" only for some one further down to reply (with a not as good impression, obviously) "It's also useful for detecting ion charged emissions". I always wonder who that was... I've cycled it many times since and always do the same thing, but have never had another answer. The wife finds it all terribly embarrassing, which makes it even better.

I rarely meet anyone else who likes Doctor Who Last week at work was a mini triumph though, a client noticed my Van Gogh exploding Tardis background on my laptop

I've had a couple of crosses with strangers about the show, both on the Underground.

One was at Victoria, and some girl couldn't stop smiling at me because I've got the Van Gogh/Exploding TARDIS as an Oyster Card wallet...she kept looking between me and it constantly.

The other was whilst on a tube train on my way to Liverpool Street. I was having a discussion about Series 7 at the time it was on with a friend I was with, and a woman sitting across from us kept nodding and smiling and smirking when certain things were said. Eventually we pulled her into the conversation too for the couple of stops we had left. She wasn't a fan of the Moffat era very much at all, so it was quite a negative conversation, but still awesome to come across fans here and there who talk about it.

When I went to Doctor Who Live at Wembley I was shocked by the amount of knowledge some of the children had. The kid sitting behind us was talking with his Mum and then the woman sitting on the other side of him - he could only have been about six or seven years old, his Mum didn't seem particularly interested herself. He was saying how he quite liked Time and the Rani, but that Caves of Anrdozani was his favourite ever Doctor Who story followed by The Empty Child... he knew so much about Classic Who, it was legitimately surprising
