How would you feel about this? I think this would be a good story for the following reasons

1 - Something meaty for Cora to get into
2 - Something meaty (besides Phil) for Shirley to get into
3 - the rape reveal will affect them all
4 - imagine the family xmas dinners
5 - Link the Mitchells, Brannings and Carters

There's a simple scientific 100% accurate test we can use to get to the bottom of this.

1. Are they both drunken, whiskey-breathed, scrag ends? - Check.
2. Comparable lack of mothering skills? - Check.
3. Is the filthiest of gutters too good for both of them? - Check.
4. Secret children? - Check.
5. Both utterly detestable lowlife pieces of work? - Check.
6. Both have horrible kids? - Tanya. Check. Dean. Check.

We already have one person secretly being another's mother within the Carter family. I don't like all my characters inter related so hate the idea of the Carters and Brannings having that kind of connection.

Maybe there was a switched at birth thing that went on, Shirley is Cora's true long lost daughter, Dexter no longer has any ties at all to the square and we can forget he ever happened. Just like we'll forget Pat ever died.
