coronation Steve's depression, Michelle and the January stunt spoilers

Just looking at the storyline teasers it looks like the stunt in January is something to do with Steve and the other thing I noticed was that Stuart Blackburn wants to focus on Steve and Michelle's relationship.
Quote:
“He added: "This is a story about Steve battling his secret, hidden depression. He is a man in chaos, scared and confused, and stuff like this doesn't happen to people like him. He is absolutely terrified of admitting it.

"This will come to a head in January where a tragedy will strike that will force him to face up to those demons. This isn't an issues story though. Obviously depression amongst men is incredibly widespread and probably not spoken about enough, but this is just a love story between Steve and Michelle and a very brilliant one at that."

So again instead of the actual storyline he thinks they are some iconic couple that his depression should focus on. Is this going to make Michelle even more unlikeable what I reckon will happen Michelle will continue to make fun of Steve as his depression gets worse and when Michelle finds out she will scream at Steve for not telling her and she'll make him beg for her forgiveness. I'm sure this will be an amazing love story about a horrible bully and guy who can't leave her. Why does every storyline have to revolve around a relationship. I wouldn't be surprised if Michelle starts to cheating on Steve with Tim and blames Steve.

A stunt?

They're not going to make Steve suicidal are they?

Depression doesn't exist in some sort of vacuum - it affects both the person and all those around them, both before and after diagnosis. Of course it's going to affect his relationship with Michelle, Liz and everyone else, and it's perfectly realistic that they might initially find him very irritating to be around, since they don't know the cause.

Should be a good story as long as it keeps moving along and doesn't just go round and round in circles.

No I think that Steve is going to have to face his depression to save loved ones. Tragic and knowing that a stunt happens in January I think they are all related.

I understand that it will effect Michelle of course it will but he is saying that the storyline is going to be about their relationship and not about depression.

A few of us, mentioned maybe some kinda car crash on the way to Kirks Wedding, could it come to the fact, steve maybe causes the accident, or has to risk his life and save loved ones.

Liz, Michelle, Amy and Tracey could all be involved

"the performances, especially from Simon Gregson and Kym Marsh, just prove again and again what wonderful actors they are."

Trying to convince himself that Kym is a good actress.

I can't wait. Marsh's eye rolls and folded arms will be out in force.
Purple.

So once again they'll be proving their inability to show a serious, sensitive issue without involving some huge ratings-grabbing stunt. When will producers realise that it's the smaller scale, true to life stories that engaged viewers far more?

This definitely sounds plausible. Michelle hasn't started this wedding planning business and Steve bought those old cars and vans for no reason. Perhaps Steve will forget to get the breaks checked or something before the wedding, they crash and he has to face up to the consequences? I doubt they'd be as bold as to make it attempted suicide. It means we'll have two wedding disasters in the space of a few months, but when has that stopped them before?

Oh God!

Corrie is already now a complete non-event. I never thought it could get any worse but looks like I was wrong.

For all wanting a proper Corrie fix, I seriously recommend Youtube as most episodes between the 70s and 90s are now there, courtesy of user "Aunty Corrie". I'm watching 1990, and it's rather good!

Don't ruin the only entertaining character on the show.

You forgot to quote this fabulous piece of pure spin:

Quote:
“Then there are the McDonalds over at The Rovers with a story that is really close to my heart. In some of the episodes coming up, the performances, especially from Simon Gregson and Kym Marsh, just prove again and again what wonderful actors they are.”

Kym Marsh a wonderful actor?

Yes Corrie, She is a wonderful actor, she's sooo gorgeous and Steve is lucky to have darling Michelle Connor. How much longer do we have to put up with Corrie telling us this rubbish before they give up? She's been on Corrie for about 7 or 8 years and the viewers still aren't convinced.

Does anyone think that the tragedy will be that Michelle dies? No. Thought not.

I cannot even begin to fathom why TPTB at Corrie even think the Steve and Michelle make a great couple.

Steve is great without her and was infinitely better with Karen and Becky was she wasn't in wild mode but Michelle, no way, it just doesn't work. No wonder the poor sod is depressed living with that harridan.

Together, they have all the charisma of a pair of wart hogs ball bags.
