So despite the epg on Eurosport 2 saying its Scotland v Denmark they are showing the men's game
Maybe the Swiss will beat Italy easily so it will finish early - and then they can move to the womens game which seems closer. |

Yes - British Eurosport and British commentators but not showing the British team.

Thanks for the Eurosport list, maybe the wheelchair event is simply to tick their inclusitivity box, but the closeness of the M + W Worlds + mixed doubles means two month's sub is good value. But not if youtube is open! Interestingly, just in case, I installed Hola to get round geo-blocking and when it was installed with an USA server it blocked youtube's curling when the UK version was open!! (Works under an NL proxy though). As far as I know, all games have been shown in the UK unblocked so that's a waste of an app. |

In the Bronze game at 6 - 3 it's Eve's to lose, which wouldn't be the first this week. But if we can get over the line, it's another piece of metal in a long list.

Well it's looking good now after stealing two in the 7th for 8-3. Totally different game tonight, all the Scots girls playing well over 80% apply the pressure and giving Lene nothing easy to draw at.

Well played Scotland, certainly deserved a medal after that performance tonight
Aww Lene...onto the Worlds and try again, you'll get your medal one time. |

Well done, finally found all-team consistency! Suppose the damage was done by missing that extra win in the group stages, as mentioned above the two bites makes a big difference.
I've read a rumour that they are thinking of scrapping the Page system in favour of the semi-and-final (Olympic style) ending. Not sure either way, but it would make it easier for TV schedules if nothing else! |

Well done for the home team, Feltscher grinds her way to another gold medal for Switzerland then. Sidorova will be kicking herself for letting it slip away with those mistakes in the 8th end; can't afford to give away 4 shots at that stage of the game.
I don't want to come across bitter or disrespectful, but I'd always feel good about Eve's chances of beating Feltscher just about anytime. Despite their wins, this Swiss team has never really iimpressed me that much. Whereas it's different with the likes of Jones, Homan, Bernard and Sigfidsson; even on a bad day those teams will still win. |

However why didn't Sweden send Sigfidsson - I know I joke about her Team Frump but they would probably have made the play offs. Are they trying out a new young team at the Europeans - or are they being groomed for 2018 so will play the worlds too. We know Sweden just pick their teams - their trials count for nowt. |

I'm not sure the Scots can afford to take the same risk with their place so much; as we saw with the scare the men had this year, it can go wrong very easily. Plus the fact when you're funding a full-time team and they're getting the results, I suppose you have to keep sending them to the tournaments. |

Excellent and very enjoyable mens' final won by Sweden in the extra end. Two really fine teams, but I thought Edin showed some class and maturity with how he used the hammer. He's also unbeaten in 11 matches this tournament, he can't be any more convincing than that.

Something there should be a word for...that emptiness that follows a week when you've been engaged in a sporting event!
Not sure what the next biggie is, probably the Continental Cup from Calgary, and it the likes of Edin compete we should be in with a great chance. That competition usually includes the singles, where a bloke who could normally do a triple take-out and land on the button for breakfast can't manage to get into the house with one stone and an empty rink!! |

Team Muirhead bouncing back and having a good week in Canada. Beating Jeniffer Jones twice on the way to a final against Homan later tonight. Good luck ladies.

I couldn't find any stream to watch, just had to make do with a live scoreboard, Eve takes another title in Canada as she beats Homan 5-3. She seemed to be in control all through the game always staying in front; only a missed peel from Anna in the last end gave Homan a big chance to save herself, but Eve, with the hammer, facing three against coolly outdrew them all to take the shot.
Well done Team Muirhead, the first women's Canadian Open, Grand Slam of Curling Champions. They seemed to have played really well this week, thoroughly deserve their Christmas bonus

Just saw the draw for the curling at braehead in January, doesn't look like eve and her team are playing, a strong line-up nonetheless but thats a bit disappointing

Saturday afternoon; Cissi Ostlund on sheet two, the English girls on sheet 4. Fantastic!! Worth the lack of admission fee alone! Hope we can get some fans in there to support the England team! |

A bit of good news to end the year with as Scotland gets to host a few tournaments. I can't wait and will definitely do all I can to pull a week off for the Euros

![]() Best thing is the main arena would be the A group, but the B group should be upstairs in the normal curling hall - but by then both England's teams should have been promoted

Scottish viewers, look away now.
The European Junior Women's Challenge title was won by.... ...England. Wahey!! ![]() This means they qualify for the World's in Tallin next month, but they will be up against this lot... Canada Russia Sweden Switzerland Czech Republic USA Scotland Estonia. Hopefully they can bag two wins v Estonia and Czech as I can't see much from the rest. But, you never know
