EE Lauren and Peter
Is it just me or is there zero chemistry between the pair?
Is this deliberate and set up so Jaq Jossa can go on maternity leave?
Thoughts?

I agree, mind you Peter seems to walk around like a plank most of the time any way so its hard to tell.

I think they were only put together because both actors are popular for their looks. I don't mind Jacqueline Jossa and I think she can act well when needed but Ben Hardy is wooden and his character is unlikeable imo.

I think Peter's recast didn't work too well, but Lauren's recast has done wonders for the character. I agree with the OP though, they have zero chemistry. Lauren should be given something that doesn't involve relationships; keep her single for a while.

Lol
But compared to Ryan and Joey the relationship seems about as exciting as watching paint dry

Agree! Why is it essential for all the "lookers" to be in relationships. They fall from one to another without pausing for breath. Lots of young people stay single these days, they prefer it. I don't think Lauren has had more than a few single weeks for years.

I suspect publicity and damage control was the chief motive for this pairing. Ben and Jacqueline can sell Eastenders by looking pretty on magazine covers while Lauren and Peter's great love story redeems their characters for breaking up a marriage and hurting a popular teenage mother.
