I liked the scenes last night of the family home of the Mitchells, with Sharon being the new leading lady of the clan, Phil back, Ben and Jay, Ronnie, it's really come together again for this clan and it's certainly rejuvenated the family!! Lokking forward to what plots are next after the unmissable wedding!!

I agree I really like Phil and Sharon together actually, and Sharon fits into the Mitchell can well. hope Shirley never comes back into it, I know she will though

I just hate the way Sharon had to take leave of her senses and forgive Phil 3 different things in ten minutes flat to get there. Bah and double bah!

I hate the way they're already making him head of the Mitchells again, he was only shot a few weeks ago! I'm glad Ronnie basically told him to "f*ck off" last night though.

I thought it was pretty clear last night that Phil and Sharon don't get to push Ronnie around and tell her what she can and can't do. I hope she's the one who ends up with all the power in that family. Phil can take a long overdue retirement.

Yes, maybe Ronnie will be 'allowed' to take him down if Sharon isn't. I won't hold my breath though. *****.

Why I'm glad there more of a unit, I don't like how dictating Phil is and how much Sharon been made to forgive and forget and act like his puppet.

I can see why they've kept them together for the moment, to make a stronger unit but not for Sharon to have another personality transplant, it's pathetic Phil dictating to everyone who they can see, I wish Ronnie had put a car boot over his head at that moment!!

Yes, me too! I'm loving Ronnie's transformation into Catwoman. At least they've got her characterisation right.

I have to say it was jarring with me a little bit. Phil looked completely out of breath following his minor shooting, I'd at least have expected a good few brisk laps round the square making sure everybody 'gets back to work '

This is Queen Ronnie's time to shine. Phil needs to be a broken and lonely old man and stop living on past glories.

Sharon has been changed into a weak willed pushover. To be fair it's preferable to the highly strung bitch she was under Newman but it's still disappointing that the writers can't get her characterisation right and basically threw her revenge storyline and Dennis along with it under a bus. I actually do like Phil and Sharon together but I wish it could have been achieved in a less insulting and disappointing way. The revenge storyline had so much potential but instead of a rejuvenated, strong willed and feisty Sharon Watts she's become Phil's doormat. As I said in another thread yesterday, I just don't understand why female and gay writers depict women in this way. Is this really how they see the female population? I'd have loved Sharon to go through with her revenge, take Phil for everything and have him grovel at her feet to take him back. What actually happened was pathetic and King Phil is in charge lording it over everyone 2 weeks after being shot (also a silly inclusion to the "revenge" storyline).

Ronnie is the leading lady of the family not Sharon.

I still don't think Sharon fits in there. There's been a lot of retconning regarding her feelings for Phil and this may sound shallow but Sharon is still an attractive woman, Phil on the other hand is really showing his age, there's just something not right about them as a couple. And as someone said above they have made Sharon a door mat to fit in.

I was glad Ronnie defied Phil. At least one Mitchell woman knows how to stand up for herself.

You took the words out of my mouth. It was a pathetic story.

Phil and Ronnie have a uneasy tension in their scenes. You get she respects him but get the feeling shell end up killing him one day

I thought this was a excellent scene and she stood firm more than most would have in walford

Some posters think there is no place for both Sharon & Ronnie at the same time in EastEnders but I disagree.

She has become a more interesting character this second stint. Like tthe shades of light and dark. And I really like the Charlie/Ronnie partnership and how Dot and Charlie get along. I was surprised she told Charlie she killed Carl. It is a refreshing change than have it dragged on for months on end.

I used to think that (possibly influenced by Santer's comment that he wouldn't bring Sharon back while Ronnie was around) but seeing them on screen together it's obvious they're very different and there's a place for both of them. Ronnie is the stronger character at present though.

Billy should really be arrested or killed off as tbh there is little for him to do and he is a pathetic character and I never saw the point in him tbh.

Phil on one hand I think he needs resting by going
On a 6 month break (Sharon could of succeeded in her revenge and phil returns months later and they reunite when he learns why) but on the other I like his family unit set up for now.

Lola just needs to feature more as she done nothing apart from get ran over under dtc. And they just need a decent storyline for Roxy. Apart from those the Mitchell's are great.

im not a sharon basher but they've weakened her character so much - by forgiving phil for his part in dennis death, making her compete to be his woman and look second best to shirley carter (the most embarrassing of all) she looks many times worse when in scenes with Ronnie who is much more confident, tougher, and intelligent. I mean shirley could never insult or patronize ronnie to her face or even Linda as in the beginning when Linda really disliked her and made her look the inferior woman

I completely agree. Sharon is just too weak for my liking. The best thing about her was how she could stand up for herself. The best she's ever been is after her affair with Phil was revealed and the entire square turned against her. She took it all on the chin and even told Peggy where to get off in a very Pat Butcher like manner by suggesting she'd be picking her eyelashes out of a nearby ice bucket if she waved her finger at her one more time

'I killed a man' is a much better line than 'Its not you, its me'.

Yes, I have to agree with this.
