transferring books from laptop to nook
phonefax
21-10-2014
My mother - in - law has a Nook (the first version) bought for xmas last year.
She does not have a computer and with this I went onto the Nook website submitted my email address and details and downloaded a number of free books.

The list of books appeared in my live mail. I connected the Nook up to my laptop with the Nook usb cable and somehow they transferred onto the Nook.
The problem is that I cant remember how I did it.

The Nook shows up as e drive on my laptop but then I am stuffed.....I seemed to think that when I connected the Nook up it automatically transferred all of the books from my laptop.......a little advise would be helpful... thanks

folder on the P.C.,to the correct folder on the ereader (which
shows as an external drive in the computer folder view,,when

Thanks but the bokks appear in my email inbox as emails, there is no optin to cut and paste,,,, when I right click on properties of the email it just says email message.

When I double click on the email the Nook window opens saying ready to download, but I have already downloaded them thats why I receive an email when easch one has downloaded

Have you looked in your downloads folder or see if you have a folder in Mydocuments for your ereader?

Checked all of my download folders and my documents nothing,, its a mystery I dont understand it , when I click on one of the email messages the nook window opens with the message "simply connect your Nook to your network and the books will transfer to you Nook library",, if only.

I did state that I have never used a Nook myself in my forst
post. But could the problem be that you have somehow
turned off 'sync' or whatever equvalent the Nook has,so
that it can then 'recognise' the emails and link to the books?

Sync appears to have been working fine, in desperation I have de-registered the Nook deleted everything and re-registered. It now appears to be working fine.

Glad you finally solved it! I have never used 'sync' on my
ereader,as I am always changing books around on my PC
and didn't want similar hassles!
