Characters who have had multiple offspring - ON SCREEN!
Anyone think of any characters who have had multiple offspring, on screen, within years of each other? Often it's a part of life soaps don't actively portray properly, characters usually have one child and stop there.
EastEnders Ian Beale - Peter, Lucy and Bobby Beale Honey Mitchell - Janet and William Mitchell Phil Mitchell - Louise, Ben Mitchell Ronnie Mitchell - James Branning, baby Cotton Kat Moon - Tommy, Bert and Ernie Moon Michael Moon - Scarlett, Tommy Moon Alfie Moon - Bert and Ernie Moon Hollyoaks Tony Hutchinson - Grace, Jack and DeDe Hutchinson Theresa McQueen - Kathleen-Angel, Myra-Pochantus McQueen Teagan Lomax - Rose, unborn baby Lomax Amy Barnes - Leah and Lucas Barnes Ste Hay - Leah and Lucas Barnes anymore? |

I don't think men and women can be viewed in the same way when it comes to having multiple offspring on screen.
Men can get away with it without the story seeming the same, since they're not the ones actually doing the having (and in the case of Jack Branning, Ian Beale, Phil Mitchell and Michael Moon, weren't involved with one or more of the children at the time of the birth, if at all.) I think more men have multiple children on screen than women for that reason. Kevin Webster CS had 4 born on screen, compared to Sally's 2. Jimmy King from ED now has Carl and Angel, while Nicola only had Angel. Female case in point, Kat. I seem to recall a negative reaction to seeing Kat pregnant again in 2011, even though many (maybe not on DS) wanted to see Kat and Alfie with a child that was biologically both of theirs. It's just too repetitive to see the same woman pregnant twice without a couple of years passing. I think the timing was about right with Kat and Ronnie this time, but otherwise it just doesn't happen unless there's a real storyline reason for it (Honey Mitchell and the whole will Janet be treated differently because they had a child without a disability.) The lack of full siblings born on screen just goes to show how pregnancies are never done without some kind of variation. Had Steven Beale been biologically Ian's and Tommy Moon Alfie's, I'd bet the sets of twins wouldn't have existed. They'd have been a single birth at most, since it wouldn't have been an issue of another iconic couple with a legacy that could have been stronger. |

Kevin Webster - Rosie and Sophie Webster, Jake Webster, Jack Dobbs.
Jimmy King - Angelica King and Carl Ashley CS doesn't count since Josh was Matt Ramsden's. |

But to add to your list. Corrie' Gail had 2 kids with Brian and then 1 to Martin: Nick, Sarah-Lou and David Sally and Kevin Webster had Rosie and Sophie - probably the most normal marriage and having kids at the time. But they were also ver, very dull. David Platt got a stepson when he married Kylie and now they've had a little girl Ashley Peacock had Josh with first wife Maxine and then Freddie with Claire. Emmerdale Ashley had Gabby by Bernice and then Arthur (Daniel - don't ask) by Laurel. |

Got to hand it to Jack Branning. Not only did he impregnate three women in three consecutive years, he managed to get the only one he did love and marry pregnant whilst comatose! Devotion to the cause right there.

Yes of course he was but since he and Max were properly together and Ashley always thought of him as his I'd still include him but it's arguable.

I know it was years ago but Ken (CS) had Peter and Susan and then another son Daniel.
Both Tegan and Sinead (HO) will have had two babies each in the space of two years if they both continue with their pregnancies. I can't think of any more but imagine if we included all the pregnancies that ended in miscarriage or abortion? Most characters would have loads of kids lol Tony (HO) would have like 5 or 6 Lindsay (HO) would have 2 (as well as the one on the way) Mercedes (HO) would have 2 Nancy (HO) would have 2 Maxine (HO) would have 1 (as well as the one on the way) Ronnie (EE) would have 2 (and the one on the way) Kat (EE) would have 6 (Zoe, Tommy, Bert, Ernie, 2 miscarriages) Stacey (EE) would have 2 Even Lucy Beale would've left behind a kid! Tracey (CS) would have 3 Maria (CS) would have 2 Anybody got any more? |

Had it not been for abortions, Kat and Ronnie would also have grandchildren older than their child's half-siblings, and Den Watts would move to 2 on screen (Vicki Fowler and the baby with Zoe.) If we counted everything, Steve McDonald CS would win. Amy and the miscarried twins with Tracy, plus 2 miscarried with Becky and 1 with Karen. CS Martin Platt would also have 2, David and the baby that Katy Harris aborted because of the story her dad made up about Martin having an affair. Also need to add Cindy Beale. Steven, Peter and Lucy. Was the pregnancy with Cindy Jr on screen? The actual birth wasn't, but then neither was the twins'. They didn't appear on screen until a week later. Also, CS Sarah Louise Platt. Bethany and Billy. |

It's rare for the same couple to have more than one child or rather more than one successful pregnancy, but I can't think of a single couple to have more than two children on screen.
I've always thought it'd be good to introduce a character who's almost permanently pregnant, some families do have lots of children and we just don't see those kind of large families being built. There's tons of story to be had from an ever-expanding family I think. Couples who've had two children that I can think of (not counting twins) - Gail and Brian Tilsley - Nick and Sarah Louise Kevin and Sally Webster - Rosie and Sophie Liam and Maria Connor - Paul and Liam Billy and Honey Mitchell - Janet and William Andy Sugden and Debbie Dingle - Sarah and Jack It's a very exclusive club! |

Because having full-siblings in a family tends to be kind of confined and the family can't really branch out and get more pseudo-relatives in a family if that family only has full-siblings and it makes the family seem kind of small.
Case in point: Ian Beale and Simon Wicks are linked together by sharing David as a half-brother. Bobby and Cindy are linked by sharing Peter and Lucy as half-siblings. Libby linked Chelsea and Jordan by sharing Libby as a half-sibling. Morgan linked Sasha and Tiffany and Liam by being their half-brother and Billie linked Bianca, Sonia and Robbie to Kai Jackson through being their half-brother. Also, while their kids haven't been all born on-screen, I wanna say Zak and Bob have multiple offspring. Zack has Nathan, Butch, Ben, Sam and Tina by his first wife Nellie; Cain was a result of a long-term affair with Faith who was Shadrach's fiancee and then wife at the time and Belle who was the only one born on-screen (in a pig pen no less) by Lisa. Bob has Dawn and Jamie (by first wife Jean, whom he married twice), Josh and Carly by second wife Barbara, Roxy by third American wife Vonda, and Cliff and Kathy by Viv. They were also born on-screen and like Belle, delivered by Paddy. Bob was also married seven times to five women: Jean (divorced twice), Barbara (divorced), Viv (divorced then widowed). Time will tell if he and Brenda get legally married. |
