Just sideload Kodi with the 'extras', you don't need to change anything then.

It is the older version of the app (not the new one seen on the Roku boxes) which means no live streams, but this will not doubt arrive when the new ITV Hub rolls out in a couple of months.

So, all that is left is All 4 and UKTV Play!”

UKTV Play is there now.

@ OVBG could you be so kind to throw up a link for the Now TV apk file, the site you mentioned earlier in the post doesn't show it anymore. Bit worried about just grabbing it from anywhere.

Thanks in advance

Can not not just sideload it across from your Android phone using this method?

I don't actually have a Now TV apk, I just side loaded back then.

Had a look at your link and that looks like an easy way, easier than ADBFire etc, but still looking for the apk file for NowTV, there's a few out there, just not sure they're trustworthy.

I just noticed there was an update to the All 4 app on my android tablet so just on the off chance I tried to sideload to my fire tv expecting the usual 'failed' message.

But it worked!

Doesn't work particularly well with the standard remote so you will need to use the remote mouse app but it is on there.

Hi guys, sorry for bumping an old thread but I'm new to the Fire Tv and things have changed recently thanks to the ES File Explorer where you no longer have to side load apps.

I've managed to get Kodi up and running however I was wondering if there's a way of getting Sky Go on the Fire Tv in the same way. Been googling all morning but can't find anything and not much mention of Sky Go at all.

I've never side loaded anything before so an "idiot's guide" would be much appreciated

Thanks

I can't see it working, Sky Go is very fussy with what devices you can use, its not even available in the Amazon Market so the chance of it working are slim to none.

Funny you should say that, i updated to the latest version of the skygo app on my phone (v 5.1.0.38) and sent it to the FireTV using agkfire, it works fine but you need a mouse to make it work properly.

If you google you should find an easy guide to do it, you just need to put the ip address of the firetv into agk and select the app you want to send over.

I couldn't find the answer to my question in the thread and wondered if somebody could help me.

I have a couple of Fire TV sticks. The one in the bedroom which is close to my router works impeccably but the one in the living room which is the furthest point in the house from the router is a bit ropey to say the least.

Most of the time my wifi signal is good but it can be inconsistent. My Apple TV works fine as it buffers the video during the good times but my Fire TV stick requires a constant good signal throughout whatever I'm watching and it is very frustrating when the signal drops and my viewing is interrupted. Sadly because of this, I am reluctant to use it. I bought some homeplugs but they came with a whole new set of problems.

I was wondering if my problems would be solved by upgrading to a Fire TV box, or does this work in the same way? My question is, does the Fire TV box buffer video in the same way as the Apple TV or does it require a consistent good wifi signal?

Try getting an HDMI extension cable such as this https://www.amazon.co.uk/CPO-HDMI-Ex...=hdmi+extender and moving the Fire Stick away from behind the TV.
I did this for one of my sticks that was getting bad reception and have had no problems since

I already did this but thanks for the suggestion.

Does anyone know how to change the region that an Amazon Fire plays video content from? My Amazon Fire TV was bought from the USA and used an Amazon USA account, I've now let that expire as they put the price up and have signed up to Amazon Germany Prime but can't get my Amazon Fire TV to use the German content, there's no settings inside it I can see to change the region? My SmartDNS is set for Germany but makes no difference. Could the problem be that all my Amazon accounts (UK/DE/USA) use the same email address? I tried deregistering on the Amazon Fire but when I signed back in it was US content again

Has anyone here had their Amazon Fire TV kit hit by the stereo audio bug? The latest software update has broken the multi-audio out capabilities of the Amazon Video app -- Netflix is OK. Things for me, and other owners, has been broken for about a fortnight now. Details here, as a starter: https://www.avforums.com/threads/ama...-only.2034172/.

Cheers, Clem

I have. Tried to talk to customer support. The person I spoke to didn't know the difference between stereo and 5.1.

Not too bothered because Amazon app on my Panny TV works just fine.

Seems to be fixed now. Some sort of server-side issue. You need clear the Amazon Video app data and cache, then re-start the box.

I noticed that.

I bought the new FireTV box. tried a movie and was showing 2.0 on my amp.
forced it to dolby digital (not plus) and still did the same, I assumed it was the film but as of Tuesday this week it's now showing 5.1.

Box is very good, love it.
