Was it ever realistically explained how this could be so? Celia was always his mother so it pretty much messes up the real continuity that the show was created on.

It was bloody stupid is what it was, and utterly pointless considering after the reveal Sandy and Darren only ever had a hanfdul scenes together, initially it was a good twist but like most of Kirkwood stories it was never followed up as Kirky looked to move on to what he could do next to shock the audience.

It was silly. I've always defended Hollyoaks but this was so silly! It added NOTHING to the show apart from rewriting history and just a terrible incident they will look back at in a few years time wishing they didn't do it!

Absolutely. It was pointless. It was meaningless There was no explanation or follow up. It was implausable. And worst of all, it totally disrespected the shows history of the longest running family in the show. Horrific idea. |

Nothing to add to the previous 3 posts; they sum up the retconned nonsense so well.

It wasn'( necessarily implausible as some women do people do take their spouse's illegitimate child on to rasie as their own. Slightly hard to believe it didn't come up in Celia and jack's argument when she discovered he had fathered another illegitimate child with Dawn and left him over it but not totally impossible.
It was more (as others have said) just that there was no point to it. They had barely no interaction, now she's left and they hardly ever mention that he is related to the Roscoes. Yes, Robbie has taken him in but he could just have become friends with one of them for that to happen. |

Waste of time. It was a way to embed Gillian Taylforth into the history of the show, but then they didn't bother with any follow up and she got bored after a year.
