New phone ideas
I am looking in to getting a new mobile phone due to my current one getting the black screen of death, rebooting constantly and having the battery life span the length of a goldfishes memory. I have tried asking friends and family members but to be honest I would be better off asking my cat for advice as he would know more and make more sense.
So I am asking here, and hopefully some of you can give me some options, to help I will tell you what I am looking for in terms of some of the spec. I would like a large screen 4.5 inch upwards, internal mirco sd slot from 32GB upwards, at least 4GB internal memory, preferably a standard SIM as I am hoping to get an unblocked phone in order to just slot my current SIM in to it. Andriod would be better due to the better apps, but I am willing to consider other OS. Working on a budget of up to around £200 at the very most. So if any of you can help I appreciate it. |

Moto G 4G.
Most likely the best one at £150. |

Everything I can find about it says it requires a micro SIM, and has problems with micro SD, is this correct? As I stated in my first post need standard SIM slot as I am looking to transfer current SIM over. And obviously want micro SD to work without problems.
You can swap your standard SIM to a micro SIM. You can keep the same number and everything. You can't really get phones with standard SIM card slots these days (unless you want a bargain basket phone) |

The Micro SD card problem is sorted now.

How do I go about swapping from standard to micro so I can keep my number and is there an extra cost for doing such things?

Also would the network you are with not exchange it for a micro SIM? |

Contact your network's customer service number, or go into one of their shops. Tmobile/EE used to charge to swap the SIM over, but now do it for free.

Anybody else got any suggestions? I would like to put together a shortlist of around 4 or 5 options then I can make a decision based on what suits my needs/spec/looks best.

As others have said you can very easily cut your mini sim down to a micro sim if your network does not come up with the goods. Mini sims are just not used in 2014 so you need to make the switch. Give it a couple of more years and all phones will be using nano sims and it will be time to charge again. |

Or there is also the Nokia/Windows Mobile phone for that price, but I must admit I'm not too keen on them due to not being as open as Android, but they may suit some people.
There is this one that got some good feedback on UK Hot Deals a little while ago: https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/phones/nok...-blank-_-blank http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/noki...159-99-2023972 |

Actually considered the Nokia Lumia 735 as well. It has a better camera than the G (either) and offers decent performance. Windows Phone is fully viable and there are plenty of apps. If you are not in the Microsoft or Google world already then the choice is down to which one you prefer. You will need a new sim as it takes a nano.

For your budget the options are the Moto G 2013 4G or the Moto G 2014. There is nothing that comes close to these. If you haven't got a 4G plan then go for the 2014 model. They both run really well, have good battery life and get fast updates.

This is the 4G version with Micro SD.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Moto-4G-SIM-...ords=moto+g+4G This is the NEW 3G version with Micro SD http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-5-I...ords=moto+g+4G If you're on a 4G tariff then get the 4G one in my opinion. Especially if you plan to use data for streaming or downloading etc... |
