Hi all,

Apologies for the lack of response to this - the thread has only just been brought to our attention. Our tech team are aware of this issue and are looking into it. It's a complicated bug though and isn't something that can be resolved easily, but it is being actively investigated.

Thanks for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Still not fixed. Seeing as almost every other forum on the Internet manages to have a search function, what is it about DigitalSpy in particular that makes it so difficult to implement? It's a bit like staff in a Ford garage shrugging and saying "We can't do exhausts."

Unbelievable incompetence!

It failed for me on Thursday.
Poorly written searches should just take longer to return the results, not return nothing. Given they are using off the shelf forum software, its hard to understand what the issue is.

Search for - pruning saw

It returns with some "closest matches" which you can select. Try them.”

I had a similar experience on the Argos website - searched for 'Pinking Shears', no exact matches but offered the following suggestions:

"Here are the closest matches...
linking shears thinking shears pinkie shears banking shears shrinking shears"

I'm sorry, what? What the heck are ANY of those?!!

Search is still not working for me. Is anyone else still having problems with it?

It's the worst today that it's been for ages. I've done a couple of searches and pages of stuff, with not one having anything to do with what I was looking for.

Been rubbish for months now

If I want to search for a thread I have to go through Google. Been like that for months. I rarely bother now.

Glad it's not just me..... I was trying to find out what had happened on an old thread and couldn't get a response at all......
In case anyone remembers it was the one with the lady who had a child and the sons father s family didn't know about the child and she wrote to them?

I jut did a earch for that via Google - it was titled "Should I tell ex's mum she has an eight year old grandson" - when I clicked on the search result though, it says I don't have permission to view the page - I assume it may have been removed then.

Probably a cached search result. Sometimes Google gives an option of a cached copy of a page even if it is removed from a site. Not sure if this works on ds though.
