It's probably not just based on height. I would have thought personality comes into it and the pairings they have seem to work well.

Anyone think that the Kristinas head rolls were strange during their VW? They didnt seem to fit in with the dance?

I posted the same idea last week, but someone replied that competitions do what SCD does, which seemed daft to me. After starting the thread and seeing all the responses I then learnt that it was an age-old, hotly debated topic and I'm still not sure of the best answer.

Did anyone hear Chris Evan's suggestion earlier in the week?

The great British public can only vote for the 4 bottom couples each week - the couple with the least votes goes home.

I think it's a great idea, saves the better dancers from any early elimination and gets rid of the dance off

I didn't like them. They struck me as a distraction technique to draw attention away from Simon not doing the dance especially well.

It would rob the results of any drama whatsoever. I don't really see the problem with the current system, or why the couples who danced better shouldn't be put up for the public vote as well.

But it removes the elements of suspense & "danger" that contribute towards the 9m rated Sunday night result's show.

I think that's a great idea. I tend to vote for people in the middle as history has told us that they are most at risk but doing that would save having to vote that way. Im surprised someone hasn't thought of that before. It may mean, however, that they don't get so much revenue from the voting as, if you weren't bothered about the bottom four you might not feel inclined to vote.

Well I don't have a problem with the bottom couple on the leader board being in the dance off automatically! There's always the possibility they will do better than whoever lands in it with them.
Can any one tell me please why Scott always looks so cross and bewildered when he's criticised by the judges ? Does he think he's good?

No because then we would be stuck with the judges favourites whether we enjoyed watching them or not.

I totally agree with your comments about ''a journey''.Too many in this present series have had dancing experience before and have an unfair advantage over the ones that have had no such experience before. (even though their dances are lovely to watch ,I tend to go for the ones on a journey.)

There could still be drama if a 'reasonable' couple had a rough week and ended up in the bottom 4!

With the current system there are no 'real' surprise evictions early on. Take last week as soon as it was announced who was in the bottom 2 it was easy to see who the judges would save.

Offering refunds and being let off by Ofcom doesn't mean they thought through the consequences of the change they made in the way those below ties were marked. I think they were panicked into making a technical fix that solved the "Chambers problem" without thinking through what else that change would do. They now have a nonsensical marking system in which a tie artificially raises the points awarded to everyone below the tie.

If they changed the voting system so that we have to vote for who we want to leave, instead of who we want to save, it would make far more sense.
