Slightly more animation from Judy but Anton will never make a dancer out of her. Loved Pixie she just bubbled over. Can't get excited over Simon at all. Please someone put Scott out of his misery; he keeps reminding me of Chris Parker!”

Yes, I like the ones who have had no experience, and work their way from zero to hero. I danced the Viennese Waltz this evening, in the privacy of my own home, wearing a gorgeous cream and peach creation, a little reminiscent of the Bill and Bobby Irvin era, when the dresses were like my Granny's lampshade!

I am eating sliced sausage and fried onion sandwiches, with a tasty side order of bubble and squeak, all cyber of course. Because then there are no calories. :

The key with televote-based RTV is to give the viewers the illusion of significant power - thereby minimising the causes of resentment - whilst actually limiting their real power as much as possible. The current system does that fairly well but Evans' proposal I suspect would create much resentment.

"Chambersgate" occurred in the semi-final, the final itself was decided by public vote and then some 9 months or so later the BBC introduced the new scoring system for the next series.

I didn't warm to Karen in her first year but I'm liking her this time we're a funny lot aren't we -

I can't stand Karen, ever since she was horrid to Ola, she seems very arrogant

I think quite often that it is because of the forum prejudices though - it is usually more obvious though when fans of the worst dancers say something like " My celeb who was at the bottom of the leaderboard was fantastic tonight, I can't understand how he/she didn't get 10's. He/She was so much better than that other celeb who was at the top of the leaderboard, the judges must be totally biased."

I can't warm to Trent at all, I like Joanna except when she speaks with what appears to be a six year olds voice

And alas have stuck with it ever since. Fortunately there was only one tie tonight so the bottom couples ended up with far fewer points than the top, which is how it should be when there are 12 couples.
Catastrophe - a wheel has come off my spinny chair so I will miss the races!

This is the first year I've actually liked Natalie, oddly enough. I don't tend to like new pros, except Iveta. For some reason she was the exception that proved the rule!!

I have mistaken Joanne for Karen Hardy for a second with that 'do. I think I may need stronger glasses

But the change to the new scoring system was because of the Chambers problem: that a contestant could be in a situation where the public vote could not keep them out of the dance off, so that anyone voting for that contestant was necessarily wasting their money.

There are a couple of occasions when a dance is blatantly over marked. (I've thought this in the past when the over marked one was my favourite couple) but generally the marking / scoring is good and consistent. Haven't seen much over marking this year though (if you ignore Donny...)

If I recall correctly, the public did have that 'power' and voted off decent dancers - that's why the dance off was reintroduced!!

I do feel the show is stagnating and something needs to be changed - whether that means Chris Evans suggestion or going back to basics (only 2 dances each week, not a mish mash of everything!) I don't know.

3 & 4 posts each. Both praising Ola and attacking Karen. Is this James Jordan? It's not as if he has anything better to do.
