Simon, all things considered, I thought danced a passable Viennese Waltz. I say all things considered because Kristina was not good. Her footwork, especially in the standing spin, was dreadful, and all that ungainly throwing her head about was ridiculous. Of the 2, Simon looked better than she did.”

Agreed. Perhaps Kristina was throwing too much in to try and get the votes, she probably knows they are not popular for some reason. I did throw Simon some votes because I thought he did OK.

I've never voted for someone based upon their pro. My favourite pro ever was Vincent but nothing could induce me to vote for the likes of Edwina Currie. For a few seconds my unspeakable filthy lust for Aljaz did tempt me to vote for Alison tonight (I'm hoping for a desperate chest paso) but I didn't succumb and I voted for the celeb I enjoyed the most (who was not one of the bottom three, nor Simon or Thom).

Nothing surprises me anymore. You can never underestimate the stupidity of the the British public. Some people like to feel that Strictly is somehow superior in terms of viewers than the likes of X-factor, BGT etc. But past experience shows that there's little difference really.

I am a bit puzzled at who represents the voter base of the three duffers. I suppose Scott could be benefiting from Strictly's large gay following. But who's voting for Judy and Alison ?

Oh well, thanks for the spoiler. Means I can give the results show a miss.

BTW guys, who chooses who does what dance and who selects the music for that dance?

I actually don't think it would have, as the public vote would never be tied, and therefore would also not use a .5 scoring system. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

She certainly didn't - in fact in the week before she was voted out she was bragging about what was going to happen in her showdance.

I think she and Anton are great together - they are just enjoying themselves so much. During their ITT last night, I just giggled all the way though. I suppose I can live with Judy continuing for a little longer but Scott can't dance (and won't improve imo) and doesn't seem to be getting much pleasure from the process so what's the point?

Fun fact: out of the male celebs, the oldest 3 males are the ones who have avoided the dance-off so far (must be some record at this point in the competition)

Also, only one female (Jennifer) has been in the dance-off so far.

P.S. Kristina on ITT next week will be unbearable to watch

I think it was the threat of the showdance that got the last word.

I think Tina's exit was very different. She had the misfortune to be paired with the worst pro dancer who has ever been on the show - made even worse by the fact that they fired a load of really good and popular pros to hire him.

Tina's dances were memorable but for all the wrong reasons and that was down to her pro - I remember even Len telling to get his act together because his partner deserved better in his comments on one show.

I voted for Ramps and loved watching him dance, but he did struggle at the start. I don't see why your desciption of Ramps couldn't be applied to Thom. Well, apart from the fact he's just been eliminated.

I believe that:
- The order of dances for each celebrity is determined by the producers at the outset of the series, although it is subject to change later down the line
- The producers give each couple a choice from three tracks and they choose their favourite (this was definitely how it was done in 2012, although it may have changed)

The individual pros definitely have their own fanbases. My mum will vote for Brendan regardless of who he is paired with.

I really dispute the idea that gay people vote for Scott, Scottish people vote for Judy etc. People just aren't like that. We always get told that it is women who watch and vote on Strictly and, therefore, the pretty boys always get through. Clearly tonight's result shows that idea is bullshit too.

Tim was the oldest male celeb and he was voted off last week.

I am sorry but I have not read so much c*** on DS for some time.

I'm in Scotland, there is NO CAMPAIGN. Please tell me how Judy voted in the independence referendum because as far as I know she didn't commit either way.

In the interests of not going off topic, I'm still disappointed Thom left over Simon who clearly has next to no public support.

The 'shock exit' week usually happens around this time, and Thom and Simon are suitable victims- bit bland, middle of the pack dancers. The standard reality TV script would suggest that one of the rubbish dancers will go next week.

One positive I can take away from the result is that it is the second week in a row when the celebrity last in alphabetical order has been eliminated, which makes it so much easier to make the polls on this forum

I suspect after last year where we were spoon fed good female dancers, people have started to look for quality rather than the stereotypes. Still can't explain Scott though.

Odd that apart from Jennifer it has been the men in the dance off.

The *evidence* of weeks past suggested mid tablers would be in trouble, and one of them had been there before. My votes went to neither of them this week.

I believe that a deaf, dumb and blind expert is employed by the BBC to make music choices on behalf of the producers.

I have never really understood how the dances get chosen. I assume it is random.
