Snapped earphone connector in my Nexus 4
rewind
24-10-2014
I managed to snap the end of my earphones in my Nexus 4 and part of it is lodged in the phone now and I am having difficulty removing it. I have tried:

- Cotton buds
- Toothpicks
- Tweezers
- A combination of glue on the remaining part of the headphone connector
- Glue on the cotton bud/toothpick etc..

Nothing seems to work!

Any other tricks? Don't want to bin a perfectly good phone because of this! If I took it into a jewellers, would they have small enough tools to get it out?

Thanks.

A jeweller might be able to drill a small hole in it and then tap a screw into it to pull it out. Not sure how small their drills are though. A high street phone shop might be able to take it apart.

The part is only £7 on eBay.

It would a fairly easy job to replace if necessary, check ifixit for instructions.

Thanks. Don't fancy opening the phone at this stage!
