Hello

Shoot me down quick if you like and first time poster here but my 7 year old, watching doctor who the ultimate guide on BBC three, just pointed out that every fourth doctor likes jelly babies...? Can I tell him he's got a point? Or to stay off Internet forums a few more years???

You know, this post totally confused me, but then I think I get what you mean now. Yes - in what I guess is a total coincidence, the doctors referred as 4, 8 and 12 all carried Jelly Babies and offered them to people they met.

Well done to your 7 year old

I believe the 2nd Doctor was the first to hand out jelly babies so it doesn't quite fit I'm afraid.

Yes that's what we meant! I've also done some Google-ising and found references to them in comics and audio stories (we'll let him off as while he can read its not on his curriculum - and audio stories, well, he's 7).

Henry says thanks for confirming. We'll be having experiments run on him after the weekend.

Smart 7 year old - a geek in the making. Now teach them that not every thing that is not explained in a story is 'a plothole' and they will grow up well.

if you look closely, they are often Licorice Allsorts. The Doctor has no idea what is in the bag.

Actually the 6th doctor also carried jelly babies, every two doctors would be the theory if not for the fact that ten didnt.....
