Good to see some classic Who getting an airing on Freeview, it's an interesting pick of stories. Battlefield is the only surprising choice, not an obvious one to select even if the criteria is a four parter to fill the timeslot. Nevertheless I 'm looking forward to them, Tomb of the Cybermen which is next is one of the best stories in Black and White and strongly suggest catching it if you haven't seen it.

Funny, my Samsung had black bars down the side.
Re: having a two-hour story from each Doctor: I hope this is an experiment and if it gets enough viewers, they'll show more. Like lots of others I can't get Horror channel and Doctor Who, not being horror fits better in Drama anyway I think. |

Seriously?
![]() I found that one of his better stories. Oh well. Curse of Fenric or Remembrance of the Daleks are both far superior in my opinion. As is Greatest Show in the Galaxy. I'd choose any of those over Battlefield. |

Nice to see 'Spearhead From Space'.....one DVD I don't have! Not seen it since 1970 when I was 9 years old!!
It was like a proper movie - especially when it was all shot on film! Quite scary too. Jon Pertwee was not one of my favourite Doctors - but this was terrific!! |

(And quite bloody, too, in the case of the UNIT driver.) I couldn't help thinking that in some scenes, the Nestene Consciousness in its container looked like a giant sphincter ![]() Tomb of the Cybermen was brilliant, too, the week before. I've still got that incidental music stuck in my head! |

The next ones (that I don't have) that I will record are Vengeance On Varos (with infamous Jason Connery and her from Benidorm!), 'Battlefield' - because I hardly watched McCoys era! And The Movie with Paul McGann - a bit iffy - but it was the first re-booting of it!

Pyramids...was the first (legal!) Who video I actually owned back in the Eighties, so know it pretty much off by heart due to constant rewatches at the time.. It's brilliant, so love the idea of younger people discovering it for the first time. There's a lot of competition, but would personally say it's possibly Tom's most 'complete' performance in the role.

Sarah Jane did a good shot in this! Tom was brilliant too! Zutek did well at sitting down too (with the help of that hand{!!!}
![]() Good story from the 70's - so many of Tom's to choose from! I'd have preferred 'City of Death' myself.

But rewatching "Pyramids of Mars" yesterday, I remember why it scared the bejesus out of me the first time it aired, when I was a young 'un... it was that organ music! (not to mention Scarman, Sutekh, the service robots / mummies... actually the whole thing was creepy as hell!) 4 and Sarah-Jane are "my" Doctor and companion, so I'm biased <3 |

I think 'classic' Who was bloomin' awful. I've given up watching these BBC4 specials.
Switched off after about ten minutes each time. The new Who from 2005 onwards are much more watchable & less cringeworthy. |
