Why is Moffat allowed to continue to produce Doctor who as since he took over in 2010 hardly any of the episodes have been as good as any from the RTD era( the worst of that Era not surprisingly ones written by him.) I am couple of weeks behind with this series and have just watched the worst episode ever featuring the boy in the care home. How that got to air I don't know.
He is totally useless and every episode is confusing dark and boring.
Both his doctors have been shocking, boring, dull and no where near as good as DT or CE. His companions also no where near as good as any of RTD one.

I and many others disagree this is by far the best series of New Who yet and the ep you refer to is widely thought of as one of the very best episodes of Doctor Who ever new or classic .

It's by personal favourite since Blink I must have watched it half a dozen times now

Unfortunately, given the opinion held by a lot of people about tonight's episode (not an opinion I share I hasten to add) you may find a lot of posters agreeing with the OP

We haven't had one of these thread for a few weeks now. I suppose it was time for a bit of a resurgence...
Oh well, I'll leave you to it...

I wouldn't say none of his eps are as good as RTD but each series has been getting worse to the point where this series has barely been worth watching.

It lacked any villain and just dragged into nothing.

I really can not fathom how anyone can possibly think this is the best series?
I guess everyone has different tastes, and there have been some good episodes. But its all got a bit silly, and Danby Pink is ruining the entire thing for me. Like who really cares about him?
He has ruined Clara's character as well.

This series has certainly made me hop on the Moffat Needs To Go bandwagon

It could be argued that the humans burning down the trees were the villains

Why stop at the sack? I am sure that when UKIP get into power we can have him deported or tried for treason or castrated or something. Stop his pocket money...NOW. The bastard.

I'm not a huge fan of Steven Moffat as I didn't enjoy most of series 5 - 7. I think Steven Moffat is a good writer and it's a huge exaggeration worst ever. This series has been very up and down with me. Some of my favourite episodes in a long time have been in this series but also some of the worst ever. I don't like a lot of Moffat's ideas like in this series Danny but other times I can enjoy his work but it would be nice to see someone else in charge.

Shouldn't that be.....Worst. Producer. Evah.

Don't agree. Generally liked/often loved Matt's era, and think Series 8 has been pretty strong overall. 'ITFOTN' thread as the cool kids are calling it, is a good read tonight, though. Thought it was alright myself, but fair do's, the kicking it's getting is entertaining. And don't mean that in a patronising way!

Then you missed the entire point of the episode.

This.

And I didn't think I'd say it or think it. But Moff is always hanging around the cons and tours, it reminds me of the sequence in Mettalica's Some Kind of Monster where Hetfield says the problem with the band's therapist is that the therapist thinks he's part of the band.

Who has always been inadequate. It used to be terribly low rent, then it went flashy but childish, and now it has too much of that soap opera trash in it as well. The denouements are generally skipped past so fast the episodes feel unbalanced and the science fiction of the plots an afterthought. But there are always a ton of argumentative pseudo-intellectuals to lap it up.

Or alternatively a ton of people who take great pleasure in saying the show is rubbish and has always been

Not sack the guy has proven when his mind is focused he does amazing work.
I do think the time is right for a new showrunner now. Having a new direction was enough of a change add a new actor playing the doctor. He has this reputation of being a perfectionist which makes me wonder how on earth he was happy allowing that episode out tonight?

Its like Kill the moon the core idea was brilliant but some of the direction just seemed crazy and not really keeping with the intelligent Sci-fi the show has been producing.
I hope the missy arc isn't going to be some massive Middle finger again because the odd few seconds are just becoming annoying. As for allowing the character of Danny to appear like this again huge mistake the character is just pompous and dull.

Clara loves Danny Queue children sniggering and the doctor looking bereft its just got no place. Rory and Amy you could believe they loved each other there is nothing within the relationship that even makes an emotional connection

I never believed that myself Rory loved her but it just seemed for Amy that Rory would do because The Doctor did not love her like that.

She treat him worse than something she had trodden in I will never know why he took it and just did tell her to piss off

If you think UKIP will actually ever get into power in Westminster, you must be out of your mind!
The best they will most likely achieve is being a small Westminster party and that's only because mps are defecting from the Tories!

Presumably he let her treat him like dirt because he loved her and just wanted to be with her
