Who thinks he's going to be a big hero & really exciting in the finale, confounding most people's views of him hitherto?

i think though Danny pink has a point, if your gf was randomly running off with a bloke in a Tardis, it would be a pretty sore point. the problem with the Pink thing is that unfortunately the two actors have zero chemistry between them. I think the other big issue is that Capaldi and Clara have really good chemistry between them which is probably making the storyline ineffective. Im not sure whether its intentional or not but I'm getting the Doctor jealously over Danny being more believable than her and Danny being an 'item'. Which considering the whole, this Doctor not flirting emphasis of Deep Breathe, is making a interesting subplot. Jenna Coleman was in Australia recently and someone about the phone call she made to Danny at the end of the Mummy episode, and she said she purposely looked at the Doctor when she said I love you, so maybe the powers that be have seen that chemistry too. |

I agree, there's real sparks between Capaldi and Coleman and nothing between her and Danny at all.

I'm sure Clara does love The Doctor but there is a difference between loving someone and being in love with them. |

I really like the character, but tonight I did have to wonder whether I like the way he's been written. Pretty much the same as Clara in series 7.
la Rory, but instead he just slows the whole show down when he turns up. He doesn't add much to the story or Clara's character. He's almost as bad as Rose's Mum!

Pink is dull as dishwater and I hope that he and Clara / dalek / junior spaceship whatever leave soon.
I LOVE the Doctor.

I'm always astonished when people express this amount of virulent hatred for a Doctor Who character. And amused, of course.
For a character that is supposedly so bland, he doesn't half cause some strong reactions. You'd almost think "bland" was the wrong word. There must be something I'm missing. I think he's perfectly OK. And I expect some startling revelation about him in the finale. But, if there isn't one, I won't blame the character. |

But why should she have to lie to him if she says she is going off with her freind she should be able to say that.
He wants to control her maybe a better term he does seem annoyed when he finds she has disobeyed orders Quote:
Also, if Clara is so willing to lie to Danny Pink who she apparently loves, how willing is she to lie to the Doctor?
Quote:
Earlier I thought the first episode with the solider called Blue who the doctor said no to taking and Danny's tears and odd somersault jumping and his time travelling relation - were all adding up to Danny not being what he seemed.
Also what does grate is clara suspected that Danny had seen the homework on the tardis and yet she still continued to lie to him over and over. A normal conversation about that she tried to quit but couldn't and what it means to her might show more respect for the person she claims to love.... |

Maybe just maybe Clara doesn't really care about Danny nor Danny about Clara. Maybe that is why it's coming across that there is 'no connection'. Because Clara it seems has something else going on with her.. as the doctor suspects. Meanwhile there is something odd with Danny which again the doctor is unsure of. I suspect both Clara and Danny have ulterior motives to be boyfriend and girlfriend..
PS I haven't watched last nights episode so reserve the right to change my mind! |

oh please, much more to come, well why dont we just have 10 really basic bland no budget episodes and just look forward to the finale then,
NO there needs to be a development or a connection to the audience or a likeable character. he is NONE of these and it really puzzles me why. |

I dont care if he gets gamma radiation and turns into a giant green monter to save humanity or if he gets in a ship and drives it into the cyberman mothership and dies, i just dont care about his character, we have had 10 episodes on aver 45 minutes so what is that 7 and half hours of doctor who and this guy is bland boring basic and monotonous. |

Is it so unreasonable to hope your girlfriend will be honest with you? I havn't seen any 'orders', just a preference for not being lied to and concern for whatever she's getting herself caught up in.

There are some who haven't 'connected' with Danny Pink - yes. Some who don't like him so far- yes. Perhaps this is EXACTLY the way you are meant to feel about his character. Why? That's the part of the puzzle as you said. And if your asking these questions. I imagine there will be answers. Whether they are enough to change your mind about his character let's hope so.

really you are always astonished, please provide examples of previous times
By it's very nature, an emotion is personal and private. I cannot possibly give proof that I am experiencing it. You will just have to take my word for it. I have, however, posted on here in threads denigrating the 10th Doctor, the 11th Doctor, the 12th Doctor, Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy, Rory, Clara and now Danny, in which I have expressed similar feelings. I'm not going to look for them, though - life's too short. If you're that interested, you do it. |

Posts? I may not have mentioned being astonished in any previous posts. Doesn't mean I wasn't. Also, if you can't remember any other character being "lambasted" you have a short memory. I particularly remember the Amy threads. People were apparently longing for her to go. Of course, there aren't always threads dedicated to disliking a character; most often it's just a few posts here and there. |
