The thing I find disturbing about Pink is that the hair on his head is exactly the same texture and composition as the hair on his face.
I'm not sure I've come across this before; he looks like he's absolutely covered in peach fluff. |

Would she have to lie if he didn't tell her to stop seeing her best freind he had no right to do that.

So you would want your current GF to cut off all contact with her best friend?
'Just off to a distant galaxy to fight a ruthless enemy who may just exterminate us both' 'Okay, dear, have a nice time' Besides, he hasn't asked her to cut off contact, just not to do something quite likely to get her killed. Which, again is understandable. Quote:
i cant remember any character in new who being lambasted on digital spy forums but you clearly wrote and i quote:-
***** I'm always astonished when people express this amount of virulent hatred for a Doctor Who character. ****** so every time this happens you are astonished, yet you cant provide any examples ? |

the poster was saying he laughs when he ALWAYS sees threads about doctor who characters who are not liked, the people who you mention were a small minority but Danny hatred is a lot more, plus its fully justified, the guy has had almost nothing to do, its like groundhog day with him,

I was under the impression Danny was going to be new male companion a
la Rory, but instead he just slows the whole show down when he turns up. He doesn't add much to the story or Clara's character. He's almost as bad as Rose's Mum! ![]() |

So, you are actually having a go at Samuel Anderson, not the character of Danny Pink?

I think people haven't warmed to Danny because were now 10 episodes in, and there has been very little of Danny Pink, bar a few moments.
All we really know about him is he is a soldier/ex-soldier, described as a 'ladykiller', in a relationship with Clara, and wants to keep her safe, and grew up as Rupert in a childrens home. There are valid questions about the character: - what type of soldier was he? Is he an undercover soldier for somebody(Unit/Missy) keeping tabs on Clara/The Doctor - Was he actually Rupert at all, and if he grew up in a care home why did he mention in an episode that he was having 'family problems' - the 'ladykiller' comment There are more questions about the character and we know so little about him, but I'm sure in the final 2 episodes well learn a bit more about him, if not find out the answers to these queries. My bet is that he is the girl Pink's 'dead' brother from episode 2, working for Missy, or an undercover agent/soldier for UNIT keeping tabs on Clara as she might be some sort of threat. Also aren't most special agents 'orphans'? Or did James Bond just make me assume that.

It's amazing pink has had more on screen time than missy yet I feel I know more about missy than I do Pink. Plus I want to find out about missy. I dont give a stuff about Pink.

Danny doesn't need to be exciting. He doesn't need to show off, or win the girl, or show Clara something she's never seen before, or be a Sontaran-cloned time agent from his own past. He also doesn't need to mug for the camera, or have comedy moments so we feel sorry for him.
He's a mirror held up to Clara - he's there to question what Clara wants, and why she wants it. He has to be the way he is in order to contrast with the Doctor. He makes her question what matters to her, in a way more in-depth than an episode like Amy's Choice did. Whereas the Doctor is reckless and exciting, Danny is dependable and responsible. Where the Doctor sees a puzzle to be solved, Danny sees people that need to be protected. Where the Doctor sees an army to be fought, Danny sees wells that need dug. To be a teeny bit sexist for a moment, Danny is what woman say they want, and the Doctor is what they actually find themselves unable to give up. |
