TBF there must have been a queue I saw this behind the scenes programme on it one hosted by Riker and he said there was only 1 toilet on the Enterprise and it held a few 1000 crew members ans their families.

"Captain's log..."

Well, there was talk about the Klingons, or even Captain Picard talking about his Number One, or firing his torpedoes!

But I digress - this is after all, the case of the Mysterious dematerialising Doctor Poo

I strongly suspect that Danny ends up dead in the finale so we won't have to put up with him much longer. It makes a lot of sense that the upset, desperate Clara we see in the trailer is trying to fix what has happened to him.

Danny may end up dead. But Orson or Danny will reappear somehow. The character/s are here for a bit longer than that I think.

Well there's nothing to stop Clara finding out she's pregnant. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if that's her reason for leaving. She's pregnant and with Danny dead she has to give up travelling with the Doctor for the sake of their child.

I did notice when The Doctor said something about pregnancy or something she gave a odd look like she was thinking it was a possibility

Nooo.. Surely they can think of something better than this for Danny/Clara plot? I'm sure they have.. ??

I wonder if they will deliberate confound expectations by not having Clara & Danny destined to be together.

Take that back Mr Ben is a legend

Meanwhile back at the subject it is not very often I completely agree when discussing acting quality as I can usually find redeeming features. I even said on another thread that Robson Green is quite watchable in Grantchester but I have to agree with the majority the plotline of Clara and Rupert just does not work and for me it is distracting from Peter Capaldi who has not only had to fight against this but the script quality has not been as good as the previous series.

There was a Mr Benn story where he became an astronaut, I think.

Wow. Just wow.

Who went and made YOU a Hugo winning script writer? Cos that's one heck of a well balanced, thought out and eloquently stated opinion that I have no chance in hell of even beginning to respond to it.

People seem determined to hate him. Why?? Is it because he isn't a pair of boobs on legs? Is it because he makes Clara less "available"? Is it because he has no wish to travel on the TARDIS? Or is it because he's not Rose fricking flying Tyler?

Seriously though the continued and unconditional hatred for Pink is staggering. I wasn't too sure about him myself at first, but tonight's episode changed that for me. He came across as genuinely caring for the kids and clara, though he took no nonsense and demanded of people only what he would give them. The idea that Pink has seen enough danger that he has learned to appreciate the normal, mundane stuff that even the Doctor has said before he loves about humans, is something I find refreshing and new.

And did anyone notice the Doctor actually used his name in the end? I am liking the character arcs this series.

And please stop spouting this "crappy soap opera" rubbish as if it's new. Fans with an axe to grind have been using that one since the 1980s.”

Wow. Such anger and hostility at something as trivial as somebody stating an opinion. On a discussion board, of all places. Wow. Just wow.

Some people don't like the character (I don't really mind him). There's absolutely nothing wrong with them saying that. Is this not a discussion forum for Doctor Who? Why not simply add to the discussion and explain your view on the matter?

You say that the dislike for Danny is "staggering". I, for one, would say that your angry, overly-dramatic reaction to this thread is more staggering.

And no, people shouldn't have to "stop spouting this "crappy soap opera" rubbish" if that's how they feel. Paraphrasing your good self, who went and made YOU the lord and master of the forum who gets to dictate what people can and can't say? Please, I'd love to know where you get the authority.

As for the "Hugo award winning script writer" comment, there aren't enough facepalms in the universe. It's rather ironic that you slam the "soap opera" critique as being overused, because that style of comeback - ("You didn't like this show / movie, etc? ARE YOU A WRITER?! HUH?! HUH?") is tediously overused itself. The very suggestion that one must be a script writer in order to be allowed to form opinions on a television show is beyond absurd, and a transparently weak attempt to shout down an opinion someone doesn't agree when they seem incapable of just explaining their counter-opinion.

Seriously, the amount of posts I see where people respond to opinions with which they disagree with bizarrely angry tirades, instead of taking the chance to actually use the forum for it's actual purpose and explain their view on the subject, is tiresome now. It's like some people sign up to discussion forums and then expect everyone to think exactly the way they do.

You know, if this opinion on Danny is "continued and unconditional" (I haven't been frequently on here this series so I wouldn't know), perhaps it would be wise to just stop entering those threads, rather than entering them just to tell people to stop having the audacity to post their opinion simply because you've now started to like him.

The unintentional irony is strong in this one.

If the "unintentional irony" you speak of is the fact that I accused them of getting unnecessarily irked at a differing opinion and you believe I did just that ... not really.

Rather clearly, I'm referring to differing opinion on the very show we're here to discuss. You log on to a Doctor Who forum, you should expect to see a range of views, you're not going to agree with them all. People are perfectly entitled to say how they feel about the show without attracting hostility.

I didn't take issue with any opinion on the show they shared, and I (again, rather clearly) suggested that they could have simply explained their counter-view. I like reading a variety of opinions on aspects of the show. My issue was the anger and the suggestion that people should stop sharing a particular opinion just because somebody doesn't like it.

No, the "irony" would only be strong if I started getting angry at their opinion on an aspect on the show, or if I told them to stop posting a particular viewpoint that is perfectly valid, neither of which I did.

Oh, and before you home in on the comment where I asked who gives them the authority to dictate what people can and can't say and decide this is also "irony" ... again, I'm referring to people posting their opinions on the show. If somebody is being hostile for very little reason, I think there's absolutely a good reason to pull them up on it. Debating the show and taking issue with other forum members simply for using the forum to state how they feel about the show (the entire point of this place) are very different things.

Based upon the preview write ups I'd be extremely surprised if Danny isn't dead so either that means no Orson or Clara's pregnant.

Danny will probably die having jumped over something too high, to save Clara from Missy. Clara will be too upset to ever go anywhere with the Doctor again.
She goes home, to raise the child she's expecting. The Doctor will be very upset but will promise to visit at Christmases, dressed up as Santa. He'll land the tardis on the roof and make a noise like a reindeer.
It's going to be a very moving episode.

I actually like Danny and don't get the problem with him
at this rate though Clara will have a relationship with him and the Doctor and get pregnant to one of them, it'll be the Doctors baby, they shag endlessly and marry and he'll finally be trapped by her in a life where's happy doing the dishes

Well, I go along with your first sentence.

You lost me after that.

Danny Pink and Clara could have been so beautiful, she needed someone to be there to make things normal, a person to just cosy up on the sofa, watch some telly, cuddle up, make a cup of tea with biscuits, surprise each time, mystery biscuits.

Clara- What biscuits have you got this time?
Danny Pink- Special offer, Wagon Wheel, not as big as they used to be.
Clara-Did they have any drifters?
Danny Pink-No.

Maybe they could kill the Cybermen by rubbing the foil from their Viscounts on them.

The big question is 'have wagon wheels got smaller or have we got bigger?'
