My 16GB Nexus 5 just developed the fault where the WiFi is stuck trying to switch on, the switch is greyed out and bluetooth won't switch on either but the switch is not greyed out. No amount of resetting have brought them back to life and the phone is not rooted.

A quick search shows it is not an uncommon problem from the threads on XDA and Google groups.

However my issue is where to get it repaired as I got it from CPW so I can't return it to Google.

Do CPW repairs still try and fob people off with the water damage excuse? LG UK also states the warranty is 1 year only and CPW states 2 years so would probably loose a year if the LG repairer replaces rather than repair it.

Thanks.

Quick update for anyone that is interested, I have had it repaired twice so far via CPW.

The first time they sent it to the central repair centre and all they did was reflash and downgrade it to 4.4.3, this took about 8 days.

Of course I updated it back to 4.4.4 OTA on return, then it lasted around 3 weeks and the 5.0 OTA update before more radio issues, this time it wouldn't connect to the mobile network as well as bluetooth and WiFi being greyed out.

So back again it went to the central repair centre, now after 12 days they replaced the main PCB which is what I wanted them to do in the first place.

Of course now the phone has a different serial/IMEI number and different WiFi and bluetooth MAC addresses, I don't mind as long as it works.
