Anne Widdecombe's and John Sergent's love child.

I know I shouldn't laugh but when Bruno said this to Scott I just couldn't contain myself.

Except Widdy and JS were at least entertaining and funny !!!

Well done to the scriptwriters. But Scott wasn't amused.

He is so bland and I always get the feeling he is inwardly raging with the judges comments.

Actually Scott should be flattered. John wasn't a bad ballroom dancer, compared to many who have been on the show. He turned in one or two charming performances. Even Ann managed to learn and dance some correct steps; rather lumpily i admit.

I can see Scott making the finals. As ridiculous as this sounds, he's been begging for votes every day on his radio show and with One Direction urging their millions of fans to support him he has the potential to beat many of the competent dancers.

That would only further confirm the stupidity of the gullible masses and it would mark the beginning of the end of this show.

I agree. John wasn't that bad. Maybe the love child of Quentin Wilson and Ann but more people remember John!

You would be right. So would most people I would say. Not many people enjoy being publicly humiliated on television.

Bruno delivers constructive criticism but Craig is quite unpleasant. Yes I know the producers and their scriptwriters do it all. And this is not a new show so the contestants are well aware of the show's blood sport approach.

It is a popularity contest with incidental music and dance. The show has not been a dance contest for some years.

If Scott goes much further I can see the producers chipping away at the dance content and increase faffing abaht time to 60 seconds or more.

Yep I feel this too. He is not entertaining at all as his performances aren't funny so he just has to go.

Well I must be very naive - I really didn't know that the judges' remarks were scripted. Are you sure this is true? It seems very odd to me.

No, not on the show, but they are on the Strictly tours.

If he were to outwardly rage he would presumably no longer be considered bland?

Oh yes they are. Just like in any pantomime - and Craig the Bogeyman is behind you ...

Does anyone believe the Thom v Simon judges' calls including Len's tie break and their scripts were not pre-ordained by the producers.

The producers and the judges knew the viewers votes before they were called out and discussed them - barring a trip up or similar.

Don't agree about a pre-ordained producer's decision last week. I believe that the producers would think (correctly) that the public would favour Thom and Iveta over Simon and Kristina. Bruno and Len just voted for the better dancer.

There is the voting public, the viewing public and the potential viewing public. Three different sets of people.

Why not believe it? This forum seems split 60-40 so the judges only reflected that. The BBC doesn't have to risk its flagship light entertainment show by rigging the judges panel when the show carries on fine either way. The drama of the casting vote will naturally happen during a series anyway since it only takes one of the other judges to disagree for it to go to Len.

If the format is sound you don't have to rig the outcome to get entertainment. Most sports try to work on that principle.

Has there ever been any hard evidence that they have decided before the dance off who is going and who is staying.
