It's still better than the National Lottery where people are whooping up number 29, and number 33, and any other numbers whatsoever.
I know! Surely 37 is ONLY number worthy of a whoop

Instead of being an indication of a spectacular performance, it's now become common place and the lack of one denotes serious audience apathy. It must be a dagger to any celeb who doesn't get one ... imagine being less enjoyable than Scott!!

I've just worked it out as 54.6% so you are slightly low.
Somebody is keeping the data on standing ovations? Does there have to be a quorum for an ovation to count as standing?

Anyway which ones got SOs yesterday?

I was surprised when Tess didn't say it for one standing ovation last night. I did say to my wife that "Poor man in the front row was a bit late standing, bet he was thinking, "Oh, Christ, not again!!

I thought we'd hear the end of " Look, ( insert name of contestant here) They're all on their feet for you! " when Brucie left.

..but no
at last someone who sees what i see and hears what i hear ... it's pathetic, change the record love. couple commence walk over to tess with folk on their feet JUST BEHIND HER and elsewhere. and yet, like good old brucie, she feels the need to say to the couple, who as far as i know can all see, 'look ... LOOK, they're on their feet for you, look there ... and there ... and up there!!!!!'

oh thank you tess, i'd never have noticed and i'm sure the couples are the same, there's no way they'd see people standing up a few feet from them.

you offer a valuable service to those of us who simply don't see the standing ovations

Well, the Standing Ovations have provided us with a new spectator sport here at phoebefair villas: who is the last one to drag themselves reluctantly out of their seat each week?

There was a classic yesterday - poor bewildered bloke finally stood up only to find the camera was right next to him.

Such fun
Thank you for this idea. I will start playing it next week! I'm sure there will be many ovations.

To be fair, she reads that off the auto-cue.

Is there anything she doesn't read off the autocue?
I really can't imagine her ever making a spontaneous comment.

I would think it is very unlikely that she reads everything off the autocue. People who have been to the show that she has some cards which I think you see her looking at. Why would she do that if she was reading everything off the autocue? They probably have notes of details to remember. You only have to look at the set and think where the autocue would have to be for her to read everything off it. Unless they have a huge screen on the opposite wall but I think someone might have noticed.

Probably the only significant ones are when the judges join in.
