Week 6 (Halloween) Dances
If this week were to leave everyone having done three ballrooms and three latins, then it should be:
Alison & Aljaz - Ballroom (AS, AT, QS, VW, Waltz) Caroline & Pasha - Ballroom (AS, AT, Foxtrot, VW, Waltz) Frankie & Kevin - Ballroom (AS, AT, QS, Tango, VW) Jake & Janette - Latin (CCC, Charleston, Paso, Rumba, Samba) Judy & Anton - Latin (Jive, Paso, Rumba, Salsa, Samba) Mark & Karen - Ballroom (AT, Foxtrot, Tango, VW, Waltz) Pixie & Trent - Ballroom (AS, AT, Foxtrot, Tango, VW) Scott & Joanne - Ballroom (AT, Foxtrot, QS, VW, Waltz) Simon & Kristina - Ballroom (AS, AT, Foxtrot, QS, Waltz) Steve & Ola - Latin (Charleston, Jive, Paso, Rumba, Samba) Sunetra & Brendan - Latin (Charleston, Jive, Paso, Rumba, Samba) Thom & Iveta - Ballroom (AS, AT, QS, Tango, VW) For contrast - by week 6 last year seven of eleven couples were balanced 3/3, whereas four others had done more of one discipline than the other, and eight of ten were balanced in 2012. So most of those should be reasonably safe bets. |

I wonder if we will see a Halloween Rumba? I really liked Abbey's as an alternative style - was theatrical although the judges not pulling her up on the lift is still annoying! :P

Song-wise: it's probably been long enough to have Phantom of the Opera, Wild Thing or Bat Out of Hell again for a Paso.
For the curious, the only dances never to have been done on a Halloween night are the Foxtrot and Waltz. The most common is the Paso, which has been done eleven times, followed by the Tango with seven and the Jive with six. |

Just brainstorming some ideas for songs we haven't seen before:
Danse Macabre (aka the Jonathan Creek theme) - Waltz Werewolves of London - Samba Wild Woman (by Imelda May) - Quickstep possibly? Magic by Coldplay, although for what dance I can't imagine |

Alison said earlier in the week that she'll be flying if she gets through - I know the producers have made the celebs do some odd things these past few years, but having Alison thunder onto the stage in the middle of a Waltz... probably best not. I think we'll see another party Latin (what's left? Salsa?) or a Paso for her.

Here seems as good a place as any to put some of my many, many, many Hallowe'en music ideas.
![]() CCC - Abracadabra, Steve Miller Band Argentine Tango - Human, Goldfrapp Waltz - Dark Waltz, Hayley Westenra Jive - Spooky, The Puppini Sisters American Smooth - All Mine, Portishead Samba - Deeper Underground, Jamiroqui Charleston - House of Fun, Madness (see here for inspiration/Lovecraftian insanity) Tango - Somebody's Watching Me, Rockwell Quickstep - Ramalama Bang Bang, Roisin Murphy (again, inspiration for costume/styling here) Foxtrot - Witchcraft, Frank Sinatra (well, why hasn't it been used already?!) Salsa - Cosmic Girl, Jamiroqui Rumba - The Music of the Night, from The Phantom of the Opera Viennese Waltz - Illabye, Tipper (would die of happiness if it were used). |

I'll jump on the bandwagon. The Strictly producers need to employ us lot, we'd be so much better than the Spice Girls Tangoes and I'm Still Standing on a loop. Possibly.
Foxtrot: Li'l Red Riding Hood (Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs) Cha-Cha-Cha: Walking With a Ghost (Teagan & Sara)/Scary Movies (Gary Paxton) Jive: Zombie (Jamie T)/Violent Stars Happy Hunting (Janelle Monae) American Smooth: I Want to Be Evil (Eartha Kitt) Viennese Waltz: House of Mirrors (David McCallum) Charleston: Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead (Glenn Miller) Paso Doble: Ghost Riders in the Sky (Johnny Cash) Tango: The Witch Queen of New Orleans (Redbone) |

I'm amazed that Ghost Town by The Specials doesn't appear to have been used.
