Sorry to add to the never ending threads about our favourite mystery woman.

But her brooch is very interesting:

It's a style - shell cameo - that was popular in Victorian times (The Next Doctor/The Paternoster Gang).

It is a style that dates back to Roman times (The Fires of Pompeii).

It appears to depict a goddess. Possibly Athena or her Roman equivalent Minerva. Both were goddesses of wisdom and strategic warfare.

It seems to tie in with an awful lot - particularly clues as to why the 12th Doctor 'chose' that particular face.

But could, of course, just be a brooch.

The goddess is probably Flora...Springtime, flowers, fertility. Her 'job 'was to bring forth blossom to ensure a fruitful harvest. The garden, big bunches of flowers in the tea-rooms, foliage on headpiece in latest trailer, all allude to this (probably).

Makes sense if your are responsible for rebirth in the afterlife I suppose.

That brooch has intrigued me ever since Deep Breath. Good research Mulett, I suspect it may be just a brooch, but quite good findings so maybe not?
