Generally I don't think anybody should be forced to quit early, but I was VERY concerned for Scott's partner last night.
I do think when they are trying lifts like last night he could be a threat to her health and safety. Suppose it's her fault for putting in lifts that are completely beyond him, but never-the-less I am a bit worried for her... |

The public don't like him though. On the facebook group, on here, anyone who you talk to... They all think he is rubbish and should have been first out. I know what you mean in that people shouldn't be personal against him, and I feel the same way about people vile to Pixie because she has danced before.
But honestly, saying you will vote for him is just feeding into why some people are voting. Sympathy. On top of that you have the vote for the worst thing, as well as One Direction and other famous people being told to plug Scott. I hope it doesn't go on too long. Thom was a good dancer and it's just a shame for someone poor to still be there when he isn't. At least with Widdy and Sargeant, they were funny and he was charming. |

The 1-legged hoik looked ugly but wasn't difficult, and nor was picking her up and putting her down again. She looks all of about 7 1/2 stone so I think he can manage safe, if not elegant, lifts! |

He then had her in the correct hold to be able to carry her or swing her around. Clearly a compromise, but a way around the lifts problem for a hopeless contestant. |

I have seen very little bashing of Scott. I have seen a lot of bashing of Scott's dancing (and rightly so) and I have seen a lot of bashing of the public (and rightly so).
Some of the criticism too is ridiculously personal and it is at the end of the dance just a dance show. I do wonder what people want Scott to do on here - Quit? Completely ignore the fact he's competing on a national TV show (watched by millions each week) on his radio show? Not ask people to vote for him? All stupid suggestions. It's not his fault the public are voting for him at all - the public do have freewill you know. The more I read of DS the more I want to vote for him. And I was a fan of Thom and thinks it's a shame he's gone but still it just seems people are throwing toys out of prams on here. And frankly I like him more than I did Dave Myers last year who I didn't find enjoyable at all and who I think thought he was the funniest person ever - and was just irritating as a result. |

I go onto this site because I like to be involved, but the fact is the number of people who contribute to this site and any others are very small compared to those who vote and individual views are actually irrelevant in the grand scale of things when it comes to voting.

Or perhaps all the votes he canvasses do not actually watch the show. Worse still perhaps they do watch and are taking some perverse pleasure in watching him stomp, or they enjoy the outrage his staying in engenders.

Being a radio personality and a television one are two different games. Scott is a great DJ. He has come across as nervous on SCD. He has alluded to it on his show. Therefore there is no comedic value as he is perhaps scared stiff.

If people think its about popularity why don't they just go stand on the dance floor for minute and half then people at home decide who can do best statue impersonation

Since it is a popularity contest surely we can talk about why he's popular? It seems like a mystery to many of us.
I would guess that most people will vote for the best dancers like Frankie and Pixie. Then some will vote for the worst dancers, probably out of sympathy or they find them funny, or just for a laugh. The middle dancers that are neither really good or really terrible just don't get the votes. |

Unfortunately personality will come into it for some people - it may be a dance show to many, myself included as I vote for the dance not the dancer or the pro each week, but not everyone is like me and I accept that.

It ebbs and flows on my 'anger meter' when rubbish stars stay in however let's be rational:
1. It's not a pro dance competition. 2. The celebs agree to take part, get booked, get a fee. 3. If the voting public spend their hard earned keeping you in, regardless of their reasons, is that the celebs fault? Not really. 4. If a celeb bows out early, how does that make viewers feel that have been spending their hard earned to keep them in? 5. Although there's a balance to be found, unexpected bottom twos etc creates debate between viewers i.e. the show gets talked about. 6. Although the production team can never call it 100%, in terms of dance ability they'll want a celeb mix of 'they're likely to be good', 'they're likely to be average', 'they're likely to be poor.' 7. It's ENTERTAINMENT

Agree. I don't think Scott is coming across very well on the show at all. I don't get why people are voting for him. He's not funny or entertaining, he's not a good dancer and he just seems really boring.

Scott is genuinely terrible. I actually quite liked him before the show as I listen to his radio show and liked that. He just seems totally amazed at the negative criticism, surely he knows/watches back and can see that? It justt leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth that he is so outraged.

It's an entertainment show about celebrities learning to dance. I actually think the producers have too much power and the leaderboard shouldn't count towards the results and the dance-off should be scrapped. It would be more exciting if the whole thing was down to the public vote.

I'm very sorry to see Thom go but I don't blame Scot – he is obviously putting in a lot of effort, so I can see why people support him. I do hope that either he, Judy or Alison go next week, though. It would be such a shame to lose another dancer with real potential, and I think all the others left in the competition are pretty good.
