Scott definitely shouldn't pull out, nor should he feel any guilt. He has not forced anyone to vote for him, and as others have said no genuine contenders have left yet due to him staying. The public didn't take to Thom enough so he left, simple as.

No the public are saving him and John Seageant shouldn't have walked either.
I agree with you, pissed off as I am about this week's public vote. It is not the celebrities' fault, it is the general British public arsing about with votes. We had the same debate about the hairy biker last year. If they are voted in, they should stay in as long as the public keep them in.

No he definitely shouldn't let sour people bully him off the show. The John Sergeant affair was when I realised how much I couldn't stand James.

It's too early in the series yet.
He has to wait until "the injustice of it all," features in the tabloids.

"It's in his contract."

Sergeant left because he had a better paid gig, not because of anything James or anyone else said.

How so?

Besides, didn't Scott already do a JS last night (dragging Joanne around the floor).
Oh yes, who can forget the 'sack of potatoes' step in the paso

People looking for a "dancing competition" should go and watch the World Championships because SCD isn't one.

No reason why people can't enjoy watching the dancing on Strictly while accepting that it is a family entertainment show, and not a 'proper' competition.

No reason whatsoever, but then again there is also no reason why some shouldn't watch it because someone they happen to like is on it. As a regular listener of Scott's R1 show I have enjoyed not only seeing him on SCD but also hearing him talking about it on his show.

This is the first series of SCD I have watched and one thing I noticed is that there doesn't seem to be any difference in judging towards those that have already had professional training. i.e. Pixie Lott and Frankie will have worked with choreographers for their performances and videos etc.

I'm no fan of Scott, but if the contestants were eliminated in the order of their ability from worst to best than it might be correct but it would be really boring! Of course, if my favourites get eliminated in favour of Scott then it's a travesty.

I had never heard of Scott before he appeared on SCD. I think his "dancing" is so dire, he should be voted off. BUT, should he step down - NO! He is getting public votes and that is part of the SCD format. SCD is not just a dance competition. If it was it would be left to the experts to judge who stays and who goes; total amateurs such as myself wouldn't get a look in, but every week I get 3 votes.

Remember, if the Great British Public are getting a say .................... well, be careful what you wish for.

It's not Scott's fault that he's so carp at learning to dance. It is his fault that he keeps canvassing for votes on his Radio show, probably stopping one of the other celebs continuing and getting more out of it that he ever will.

Should he step down? No.

Should people stop voting for him? Yes, purely because of stopping others getting better by being voted off too soon. Thom wasn't brilliant, but he was improving. Scott isn't and now Thom will make no further progress.

No. As much as I have thought he deserves to leave from the first show, it is a public vote. Do I think most of his votes probably come through celebrities urging their fans to do so, who probably don't watch? I think so. Or the good old sympathy, or the contrarian vote. It's a shame good dancers are leaving but that is the way the show works.

John should never have walked, it wasn't fair on him, Kristina and all the people who voted in their droves for him. He wouldn't have won anyway, bad dancers don't in the end.

If people want to vote for Scott, they'll vote for Scott. If they don't want to vote for Scott, no amount of vote-begging is going to make them. I can't imagine being told they "should" or "shouldn't" do something, especially when we're dealing with something very subjective and open to personal opinion, will change their mind either.

I don't know about doing a Sergeant, but imo he should have a word with himself about the odds of him ever being able to dance, and how embarrassing he is to watch stomping about on live tv.....LOL

Definitely agree the answer is NO and JS shouldn't have left either. Probably the show's lowest moment.
have to agree JS should never have left and however much i dislikes Scott's dancing and i dislike Joanne Clifton too - they were invited on and there fore follow the same rules as everyone else - if there getting voted through then so be it

Absolutely not, considering both Scott and Judy are always at the bottom of the leader board each week an awful lot of the general public are voting for them to stay in. If the likes of Thom and Simon(both okay dancers but nothing special) are failing to gain the public votes that is not Scott or Judy's fault.

Scott should be voted out this week, but I don't think that he should walk. It's an entertainment show and if people want to vote for him, they should be able to.

Call me cynical, but...

Have faith in the system, wait until the "he should go" tabloid stories have done their work, "The BBC kept him in and a better dancer went out!"

Then you'll find that he won't get any favourable treatment and he'll go by the process of "natural de-selection" people will get tired of voting for him.
Happens every year. There was no need for John Sergeant to bow out, although the BBC had got some stuff already lined up for him to present, so perhaps it was just a publicity stunt.
It is just show business after all.

Oh for gods sake if some fans are voting for Scott more than others why should he leave? Some people need to stop moaning because they are not getting their own way. Thom and Simon did not get many votes and were placed into the bottom two despite having three other contestants below them on the leaderboard. Why should those who the public are not voting for get to stay?
100% agree 👍
