#117: Jane McEvoy
Series 8, 13th place, fired Week 4

Top ranking: 51
Bottom ranking: 139

Average ranking: 101.6

Jane was tipped to be a hot contender at the start of Series 8, but failed to impress Lord SUgar over the first four tasks, with her record including a PM loss. She was fourth to be fired in Series 8. That is a quarter of the Series 8 cast out of the running!

That really confused me too! I thought she was really nice, and it's a shame she's so low.

#116: Uzma Yakoob
Series 9, 13th place, fired Week 4

Top ranking: 65
Bottom ranking: 135

Average ranking: 100.5

Perhaps the reason Uzma finds herself this low is that she locked horns with so many candidates in such a short space of time, as well as radiating little positive energy?

#115: Matthew Palmer
Series 1, 10th place, fired Week 5

Top ranking: 67
Bottom ranking: 130

Average ranking: 99.1

Matthew is the first Series 1 entry, and we have now ranked at least one candidate from each series. It's fair to say he finds himself here because of his argumentative nature and awkward demeanour.

#114: Rory Laing
Series 3, 14th place, fired Week 2

Top ranking: 55
Bottom ranking: 139

Average ranking: 98.4

Rory is remembered for telling his creative team to take their jackets off during a brainstorm, as well as clashing with Tre in a most hilarious fashion

#113: Melissa Cohen
Series 6, 12th place, fired Week 4

Top ranking: 18
Bottom ranking: 137

Average ranking: 98.1

Melissa is known as being a bit of a hot mess, to sum it up, and she probably has one of the most memorable firings of all time: 'well done for ganging up on me, horrible people!'

Absolutely disgusted that there's been no Wotherspoon yet - what are people playing at!? And whilst I'm glad to see Melissa out, someone put her at #18?!

Did you put her there, George?

Why do you hate Alex so much though?!

And I put Melissa at #18... * I just found her hilarious, and I very unique candidate.

*Hope people don't mind that I voted? I did my votes before anyone else had sent me theirs.

He was a disgusting back-stabbing awful horrible candidate. Honestly, by his exit, he was almost my most hated candidate in the series. This was a series with Jenny Celerier in!

And I don't see why anyone would mind you voting

I feel Uzma is way too low.
I like it when candidates get in-touch with their creative side.
Although it was obvious her and Sugar were not going to be a good match.
Karren (reading out in the boardroom Uzma's specifications for the girls box design): "You said it had to be glueless."
Sugar: "Glueless? More like bloody clueless."

I also gave Matthew his top ranking.
For me he did 'over-bearing male candidate' the right way, basically being incredibly awkward and clumsy with it.
While Philip did 'over-bearing male candidate' the wrong way.
The only thing I liked about Philip were his constant battles with Lorraine.

Looking back, I thought Maria was going to be one of my favourites, but there wasn't much going on there. I didn't expect her to get fired so soon though, that one scene where she's falling asleep in the car proved crucial in telling the audience who was going to be fired.
For me series 8 certainly has the most random firings with little explanation, which might be part of the reason it is my least favourite series.

I don't see why Sophie Lau was expected to be the next Susan Ma. Other than the fact that they were both women of a similar age, Chinese origin and both had names beginning with S, I don't see what was similar about them. I do think though that Sophie was trying to be seen as the next Susan Ma, with the constant whining of 'Why is no one listening to me?' The difference was that Susan complained because people weren't listening to some actually decent suggestions, whereas Sophie just seemed to whine for the sake of it.

For me it was the age thing. I saw Maria as potentially the next Susan Ma in Series 8, but a similar thing happened (She was too immature) After Susan, I saw the positives in having young candidates, but sadly not many have turned out as effectively as she did.

Well, I guess that's what was good about Young Apprentice really.

Just realised that 7 of my bottom 10 are yet to come and my highest knock out so far is #67 (Rory - I thought he was comedy gold!)

Well, he did create the most hilarious advert ever on The Apprentice. Also, the list was about your favourite candidates (which is not exactly the same as best candidates). Mind you, most of the suprising top rankings (except the series 4 cast, lol) will be likely from my list (and some low rankings for forum favourites). I do admit to regret some of the placings in hindsight, but that is life.

He was my lowest choice - just under Jenny Celerier. It was close between them - Jenny was certainly more malicious - but she seemed to have a little more business sense that Rory.

I've chosen them on a combination of talent and personality.

But he was really unpleasant though... he had a real problem with poor Lorraine, for no reason at all that I could see.

As for whether it's the most hilarious advert, it's up there but I think there are a few contenders. I would say that, Octi-Kleen and the Grandeur English Sparkling Wine are tied for first.

I thought Rory redeemed himself for the most part in the final, coming up with Simon's winning idea essentially. Partly because I hated Tre, I found his attempts at winding him up in the final pretty funny as well.

While I agree that he could be an arse at the best of times, he definitely wasn't the only one who had problems getting along with Lorraine. Even the likes of Yasmina and Howard clashed with her.

It's funny seeing Jane rank so low nowadays, considering that when she got fired two years ago the forums were ablaze with people saying that she was an amazing businesswoman and that Lord Sugar was a complete fool to get rid of her.

The problem with Jane was that she was a big character so people were shocked when she left as most people had expected her to get towards the end with the edit that she had. I didn't have a massive problem with her firing (though I felt as though Laura deserved to go that Week) as she hadn't really shown much competence in four weeks and had only sold £8 on task.

The editing of series 8 was seriously weird.

3 major examples from my point of view were:
Duane - for the first few weeks he was shown as a really competent and likeable candidate, then abruptly fired.
Jane - came across as a big character, very divisive but someone who knew what they were doing, then her edit fizzles out and she's abruptly fired for losing her spark.
Katie - came across as fairly useless on the first task, most think she should have been fired, then she develops into the most relatable and logical candidate becoming alot of people's favourite, then abruptly fired.

Talk about an uneven series, it left me a little bit lost as the candidates I had formed my strongest opinions on were no longer there. Although I must commend it for being unpredictable.

#112: Adenike Ogundoyin
Series 1, 14th place, fired Week 1

Top ranking: 67
Bottom ranking: 132

Average ranking: 97.3

Adenike was the first ever boardroom casualty, because of what Sir Alan deemed to be a disruptive nature.

27-10-2014
#111: Christopher Farrell
Series 6, 8th place, fired Week 8

Top ranking: 76
Bottom ranking: 122

Average ranking: 96.4

Christopher from Liverpool's most memorable moment is that Octi-kleen advert. Need I say more?

27-10-2014
#110: Ben Stanberry
Series 2, 14th place, fired Week 1

Top ranking: 55
Bottom ranking: 129

Average ranking: 95.5

Ben clashed with Syed on the first task of Series 2, and Sir Alan believed he did a bad job of leading his team, leading him to be Series 2's first exit.
