I liked it a lot, but not as much as seeing the pros/celebs learning it from Tristan on ITT this week. That was one of the best ITT moments ever

I am not a fan of country and western or anything like that, so it didn't do much for me. Harmless fun I suppose.

Would not want it to be a dance the celebs do though”

No chance of that, it was just part of the "show" and it made a change, I don't know why anyone could not enjoy the "spectacle" as that was all it was.

We all have different tastes, it didn't do anything for me but as I said I hate the song.

I'm not in to country music that much, but most have "good stories" particularly, "my man done me wrong" ones, so many of those.
I like this from over a decade ago.
It's really got some go in it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It's been driving me mad trying to work out where I recognised him from!

I loved it. It made a pleasant change and was the best of the pro dances this series, for me.

It's a shame that the show is moving away from ballroom and latin.

The BBC are trying to compete too much with ITV.

Everyone was doing their best with it, but the music, theme, choreography and steps all still don't look that great - that's just the way it is, it can only look so good. Its a barn dance.

Oh Doghouse I totally agree with you, I do love me a bit of Dolly, Billy Jo Spears..Johnny Cash and a lot of American county blues, it's just that REDNEX Cotton Eye Joe that I can't stand. Like nails on a board to me.

they did, didnt they

totally agree, the band and singers are such a huge part of the show but they are hidden under the stairs - maybe they will feature more after Sundays show but I doubt it somehow

The pros looked like they really enjoyed dancing it too!

I might dig out my DVDs of Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas and watch them both again now! Nothing like a good musical!

I loved it going by his tweet from last night, sounds like Matt Flint who won SYTYCD in series two choreographed it! Might explain the lack of Ballroom and Latin

Funnily enough I was considering this just the other week. I even thought that 'Timber' would be the perfect soundtrack. :P

When we used to be down the pub and Cotton Eye Joe came on the jukebox everyone used to start bouncing around, thigh slapping and yee-hawing. So much fun and that dance took me right back - not that our dancing was quite to that standard

That's actually really nice to hearbut I would rather stick pins in my eyes than listen, let alone bounce around to that track..

I have to agree with you there. It really is a banging tune! Not everyone's cup of tea though....

Hard to keep track, but weren't there seven main couples, a sort of "Seven Brides" tribute?

I didn't enjoy it much (bits of it looked ungainly, other bits just looked silly and generally on a personal level I'd rather watch the pros shine doing what they're best at) but it did make me want to watch the barn raising scene from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which is just as good as I remember it being!

For those who aren't familiar with it (and for those who just want to see it again), here's a youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TygmMPbwfjA Now that's dancing!
