Iveta

I am always sorry when Iveta has to go - whenever she is on I can't take my eyes off her. I think it worth remembering that in terms of international competition success she is the senior professional on the show, having been World Ten Dance Champion (i.e. latin and ballrom) for two years. My dream is to have Brenda and Iveta do a pro demonstration but I don't suppose it will happen. Here she is in one of her Pushmi Pullu dresses ("I've never seen anything like it in my life!")

Sorry to see Iveta & Thom leave . A fun solo number from Iveta in Las Vegas 2011

I'm really disappointed for Iveta - she looked like she really enjoyed teaching and dancing with Thom and her vivacious personality always shines through whatever type of celeb she's with.

I hope we get to see more of her in the pro dances.

I find it funny that she looked like she'd won the lottery when she got Thom, but has ended up going out before all three of the duffers.

To be fair though, he was the one that most of the female pros seemed to want.

Oh I know, I don't blame her for looking chuffed at the time.

I don't think she fitted as well with Thom as she did with Mark last year.

I absolutely adored her last year. Dancing with Mark she let her eccentric personality shine through her choreography and costumes.
I felt she was a little subdued this year.

It's interesting because by the time the partners are announced the pros have seen all the celebs in early training and I would think that being pretty would not be such a factor in who they want. I know things can change and you can see potential but look how happy Brendan was when he got Victoria who was pretty wobbly (both physically and emotionally) almost throughout.

I agree. Whatever they are or aren't up to off the dance floor, there was next to no chemistry when they danced and, frankly, I had to work hard to notice Thom at all. Which is disturbing given his looks, I know, but their dances were just bland and unexceptional to me. I even felt he somehow drained Iveta's humour and vivacity in VT's and the interviews.

As my favourites are Natalie, Iveta and Aliona, I'm absolutely bereft. In some ways I'd have thought Iveta would be a natch for Tim humourwise, and Nat's always the goto partner for a big 'un. I'd also say that despite the dress (maybe it's cursed?), Iveta does tone down the pyrotechnics to allow her partner's modest ability or lack of it to be showcased - maybe that's why it's bland and unexceptional. It is annoying that they lost out to someone who doesn't play the game that way.

I thought he was doing OK, and up to last night he was progressing, and I think Iveta was enjoying that aspect. It was a different experience for her from dancing with Mark and a shame they went out but it was just not a good dance for them.

Yes, I remember at the meet and greet, Natalie and Aliona standing together and saying whoever got Thom would be a lucky girl.

Thom did make progress but Simon started off as a better dancer and Thom was unlucky to meet him in a dance-off so early, as Thom was closing the gap.

Although I bet Iveta could barely walk on Sunday morning.

I think there was more pressure on her with Thom than there was with Mark. With Thom for some reason a lot of people expected him to be good because of how physically fit and attractive he was.....it was the same with Rachel Riley last year and Victoria Pendleton the year before. I just think the expectations for him were perhaps too large.....she was working with a novice who had very little in the way of performance background. With Mark I recall there were very little expectations - he wasn't conventionally attractive and many people on here expected him to be an early boot - yet because of Mark's affable personality and comic performance background they both managed to forge a memorable partnership and have a good run on the show.

I disagree with the comment that she had very little chemistry with Thom, I think the chemistry was beginning to come through in their performances - I just think with Thom she just had to work harder with him for it to come through because performing didn't come as naturally to Thom as it did to Mark. I think Iveta and Thom were unlucky - they got a dance that didn't suit him and none of the duffers were in the dance off with them.

I'm not keen on Iveta's dancing so I won't miss her. However, I do think she had better chemistry with Mark last year.

I agree Thom was improving (probably more in the Ballroom than Latin) - it's just unfortunate that he got a dance that really didn't suit him and who he was up against in the dance off.
