I am sorry I will say this, he is not the right colour. The only black contestant who has gone on to win was Alysha Dixon. Oh and Mark Ramprakash. Both mixed race. Even Natalie Gumede who was IMO a lot better Abbey Clancy got a lot of pasting from the media and people on here for being a ringer. This year there are more than 4 ringers and there's hardly a bad word said against them. Sorry to bring race into it but it does play a big part.

Its a shame really.

Brave person, you brought race into it.

I have to admit that, on British TV shows, black people rarely win. Just my humble opinion.

Back on topic: Simon hasn't made a bad career move. The show is going to make people more aware of him. Plus he isn't the only one with a busy schedule.

Brave or incredibly naive. I still like to believe that Britain is a land of equality and any person who makes a contribution to society is respected regardless of age, gender or colour. One can only live in hope.

Pixie has a very busy schedule too. I like Simon and it seems the other contestant like him to. I notice on here people see things that are not there. Which is a real shame.

Simon didn't come over well early doors. The audience were shown what could be interpreted as arrogance. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression is what is at play here I suspect.

I would imagine the people who have loads of other stuff going on are the people who want to do Strictly the most. Lots of lovely promo for said other projects.

Where else can you get paid to advertise your day job for 3 months just about every day of the week?

Funnily enough what I saw was shyness and reserve. Its funny what people see. Scott on the other hand IMO is incredibly arrogant and believes he can dance. If Simon behaved like Scott, he would be lynched on here even more. Same with Anne Widdicombe, she was arrogant, couldn't dance and thought she was funny.

All the other contestant seem to like Simon.

Yes. However, if that is the case how come the others are not being lynched as much as Simon, especially on these forums. Someone even said he was unpopular because of his partnership with Kristina. Which I found really difficult to understand.

I know nothing about "boy bands," even the name puts me off, so I had no knowledge of Simon. But for a "boy band member," to reveal he has an eighteen year-old daughter, as he did on ITT as I've been told, won't do much for his street cred.

Well after Lee on CBB...
i haven't watched BB for years, but i saw quite a lot of that series, he was astonishing, and not in a good way. i do wonder if that calamity has impacted on how simon is on strictly, although he seems all round a much nicer and healthier personality than the disaster zone that is lee....

Anyone who has even remotely followed him over the years will already know that. He was on a TV programme with his daughter not long ago (might have been The Reunion).
