OnePlus One Pre-orders
So is anyone going to be getting one now that the invite system is no longer the only way to get them?
I'm still not entirely sure on how the pre-order system is going to work - it looks like it will be open for an hour this afternoon (1500-1600 GMT), but after that I don't know if there is then another wait before the pre-order system opens up normally. You can at least "pre-pre-order" by going to preorder.oneplus.net and entering all your details so that when the window opens all you need to do is confirm it - should hopefully mean less load on the website I guess. |

I still think people are nuts to buy this in the uk when it doesn't work with one of our primary 4g frequencies.

Well I've got my pre-order in... just! Took about half an hour of constant refreshing though.
Been quoted 2-3 weeks - anyone else had any luck? corf - for the price I'm not too worried about 4G as it's quite rare I use the data when I'm out an about anyway for more than a quick refresh of Facebook/emails etc. Plus I think 3G will get even faster the more people sign up to 4G plans as it will ease the congestion that causes current slowdowns on the 3G network. |

Finally got mine to go through. Shipping estimate is up to 4-5 weeks now!
I had already got a couple of months ago via an invite but decided at the time to wait for the iPhone 6 so my other half got it instead. Having seen it in action during that time though I am thinking I may give it a go after all. As you say Mark, the slightly limited LTE band coverage isn't really something I'm too worried about when a) the phone costs £269, b) 3 has very extensive HSDPA+ coverage anyway so speed isn't really a problem if you don't have LTE band 20 (and you still get 4G coverage on Band 3). I'm quite looking forward to having a proper delve into Cyanogenmod - had a rather unsuccessful attempt at putting it on a Moto G so will be good to see it running on a handset that has it as its default. |
