There may have been a thread on this topic already, and if so I apologise , but I can't find it. I do wish Darcy would stop saying "The boys are right" every time. About the only time she doesn't say it is when she is the first to speak. Surly she must have confidence in her own opinion?

I picked up on that too, it is nearly as bad as when she first joined the show and would say 'yah ?' after she said something to the contestant, as like 'you know what I am saying'.

Well if everything she was going to say has been said by "the boys" then what else is she supposed to say. I remember Alesha getting critiqued for this reason.

I like Darcey but I wish Tess (tptb) would ask for her opinion earlier like 1st or 2nd comment as she does give good critiques

The comments flow better IMO when asked in the following order

Bruno
Darcey
Len
Craig

It does grate with me a bit, but I think to be honest she just says it to avoid repeating what somebody has already said - and it shows she has been listening (either that or she dropped off during the performance and hasn't anything useful to say )

Don't they take it in turns to go first

I don't mind it really, its not as bad as when Alesha used to say it, and its faaaaaar less irritating than Len's "YER CAM AAAAHT AND GIV IT A GO"

They are never asked in that order

I don't mind it when she says this as such, however it really grates on me whenever Craig gives a score that she doesn't agree with and she pulls the most sour faces whilst facing his direction; Craig's marks are quite often an accurate depiction of the dance!

I'm waiting for the day she doesn't talk as if they are all in kindergarten - not one of them is under 50!

That's her job. Bad cop - good cop. It is in the script.

I think Darcey watches what she says - last year she commented on someone (I can't remember who) "having excellent" technique in a Latin dance, when the technique was totally wrong. Better to mirror what 'the boys' have said than say something silly.

Perhaps if we had another female judge she might say it less often.

I couldn't agree more. 'Coming out and having a go' does seem the very least we could expect of any of them and therefore, you'd think, could go without saying, let alone having Len repeat it five times in every show!

It's as irritating as the 'Ya' days isn't it? Why not just sat 'They are right' ?

Darcey used to say "Yah" all the time in her first series. She has now moved onto slightly more sophisticated catch phrases - "It's true" being the standout one for me.

She might have wanted to say the same thing as they did, so she acknowledges that.

For me one of her most irritating mannerisms is the way she turns her head towards Craig implying he's underscored before holding up her own paddle with a higher mark.

She does it constantly.

I think she could vary how she says it a bit, like 'I agree', 'they're right', 'it's been covered' or 'I also think...' and make a different point etc. And just not refer to the other judges every time.

I don't mind Darcey. Just a feeling -- I've not done a time and motion on this -- but she seems to say 'the boys are right' mostly when including a negative point. She prefers to focus on the positive and 'the boys' let her sneak in a negative without taking full ownership of it.

She has not much to worry about then if that is 'her most irritating mannerisms'.
