The entire family cowering in fear of the mighty Phil, literally running out of the room begging him not to smite them if they dared disagree with him about Ronnie and Charlie.

He wheezed and spluttered his way around the room, bullet holes gaping, coke-addled nostrils hanging off, dodgy heart doing 300bpm because he got up too quickly, arthritic old bones creaking away, looking up from the ground at Charlie - letting the whole family know that if he is against something, they all are. You could practically smell Billy messing himself at the thought from here.

I've given the writers credit for creative license in the past when it comes to the ridiculous pedestal they've arranged for the old man, but it's getting quite perverse that they've allowed it to carry on for so long past its sell-by date. It must be so embarrassing for all the actors involved to have to act that rubbish out.

Why did Lola leave on Phil's demand?! She'll probably be less involved with that side of the family now for fear that if she's around a lot, Ben's more likely to decide that he suddenly wants something to do with Lexi.

Fantastic post, J-B!

Same tiresome crap as far as Phil is concerned. It got boring many years ago.

I found that scene extremely stupid! I'm glad Charlie is standing up to him as no one else is!
I actually wish they had just killed him off when he got shot and be rid of him for good!

Pmsl yes, it was absolutely pathetic. 'We're all goin'.... NAAAAHH!!!'

They're writing Sharon really stupidly too - one minute she's desperate to reveal all to the police about the gun etc but is reluctantly persuaded to keep schtum, next she's bowing to her lord husband's demands that 'there'l be no pig in mah faahhhmily!', looking at Ronnie and Charlie like they are pure filth. Since when was Sharon some police-hating gangster's moll - oh yeah, since she pathetically forgiven Phil for wronging her about 3,000 times this year as she is so desperate to be lady of the Mitchell manor.

What on Earth was the point in putting on the longest wedding day in soap history if literally nothing has changed as a result of all that madness?

It was nothing new Billy, Jay and Lola have always bowed down to Phil and treat him like their leader. Sharon is just pathetic now after the attack in the Albert I thought she was finally going to break away from Phil and regain a small amount of dignity and independence but no. Phil has had her beaten up for disobeying him, cheated on her with Shirley of all people and was even responsible for the death of her husband. There is nothing she wont put up with, how else can he possibly humiliate and mistreat her and she wont take him back?

He is the head of the family what do you expect. Most of them rely on him one way or another. Hes still an intimidating presence and charlie is a soft voiced wimp whats he going to do

It's more likely Phil and Ben would take extra interest in Lexi if Lola did something to get in their bad books.

I haven't seen it but as if Ronnie would take orders from Phil, she's more than capable of standing up to that ****.

He shouldn't be the head of the family, Ronnie and Sharon are more than capable of standing on their own two feet.

Totally agree. It's like he's the Lord of Walford. He just walks around lording it up, looking down on his people from afar. Ridiculous.

I was hoping Charlie would smack him. Am glad he kicked Lord Phil out. I hope Ronnie eventually tells him where to stick it.

Sharon is pathetic. I agree with the poster who asked what the point of the long wedding day was and literally nothing has changed. Sharon deserves Phil. They're as pathetic as eachother.

He was like, "Phew! I won't have to inbreed with Ronnie's relatives! That's a f*cking relief!" :cool

Inbreeding is a Mitchell family tradition after all.

I was both surprised and pleased that the kicking out line made it into the script. Someone must have had to fight extra hard to get it in there.

What? Somebody dared to question Phil's invincibility?
