Scott & Judy - What's The Attraction?
differentdrum

They are probably two of the worst 'dancers' in the history of Strictly. They are not improving and it isn't as if the routines are in the slightest bit funny?

So why haven't either of them appeared in the bottom two and faced the inevitable exit?

Bookmakers must be loving them.

Judy has been improving, albeit slightly, in both her dancing and her personality. I haven't been persuaded to vote for her yet, but I'm finding myself liking her more and more.

However, Scott hasn't been improving, has a look of pure obnoxious when he recieves bad comments and his perfomances aren't at all entertaining for me.

Be careful, you'll be accused of 'Scott Hate' and 'Judy Hate'

I am not a fan of Scott, but I really think Judy improved a lot last week, especially for a complete beginner and a lot more than the judges have given her credit for. She still isn't great by any means but compared to the cringey first performances you can tell she's put the effort in.

I think she put a bit of character into the Charleston compared to a rabbit in the headlight look of previous weeks. She takes every bad comment with a smile, she doesn't take herself too seriously. I don't like her enough to vote for her, but I can understand why people do.

Judy is quite a good contestant. She seemed to be nervous at the start but now every bit of comedy and dancing that comes from her is a pleasant surprise. Her pairing with Anton is good. She entertains without trying to be a celebrity. Nobody is pretending she is anything that she isn't.

I think Judy has improved .. small improvements but still. I think a lot of us can relate to her .. not everyone is born to be an Erin and she's a lot of fun and the partnership is great. She actually put some moves together in the Charleston ... a lot of which was solo dancing .. and that was much better than what we'd seen from her before. I did throw a 'free' vote her way as both the VT and the dance had me laughing my head off .. it was such good fun.

I can't see the entertainment value in Scott and that's mostly because he takes himself a bit too seriously and actually believes he is dancing well. But ... if people are enjoying him then they've every right to vote for him.

Judy is good fun - self deprecating and happy for the joke to be on her. However she is trying very hard to improve her dancing and has made great strides since her first "dance". She and Anton make me laugh, in a good way, and I have absolutely no problem with her continuing in the competition for a time yet.

None of the above applies to Scott. Please put him and us out of our collective misery.

Judy improved slightly last week with her Charleston

I am yet to see any kind of improvement in Scott

Judy is loving her time on Strictly and it shows, Scott I actually don't know if he is enjoying his time on Strictly.......

As for why they haven't been in the bottom 2 - the GBP clearly love them and are voting in the millions for them both

I am not a fan of either Judy or Scott, so I use my FF button whenever they are on. But then I would FF Anton no matter who he danced with.....

Christopher Parker I would say was the worst and Fiona Phillips was awful too. However that aside I can't explain why people are voting for Scott but I do know I am enjoying watching Julie progress. She was so terrified in week 1 she was as stiff as a board but to see her do that Charleston on Saturday really made me smile. She and Anton are a fantastic partnership so I hope she stays a bit longer as I am enjoying her journey.

I believe Judy gets support for her pro independence stance and from the middle aged ladies who support wee Andy

I've never heard of Scott. So I have no idea who likes him. He must be good at his job as he's a terrible dancer.

Don't they all seem to be loving their time on SCD?
The only people I can recall as not seeming to love it were lulu and Pendleton, both partnered with Brendan (wonder if that's a factor)

As I recall Pendleton seemed to enjoy it as much as everyone else, she just wasn't very good.

Very simple as I said before.

1. Scott gets the Radio 1 vote.
2. Judy gets the sympathy/Anton vote.

I don't think she enjoyed Brendan though

Fan base must be voting for Scott, he is not interesting to watch. As for Judy she is improving a bit and enjoying it so I suppose she deserves at least 6 weeks or so ; I guess there is some Anton love as well to keep them in. Just hope neither they, nor Allison, last long enough to scupper the chances of talented dancers who CAN entertain with their dance skills.

I can't honestly say I have enjoyed a single dance Messrs, Murray, Mills and Hammond have done, apart from Judy's Charleston.

I think you are probably right about Scott but I completely disagree about Julie. People are voting for Judy because she has shown some improvement, she does not take herself too seriously, she and Anton have a great partnership, and people are being entertained. I can't wait to see what they do next.

I think Judy has improved from her first dance
To now.. Even last week har dance was a big
improvement but her charleston was really good
and lots of fun, her and Anton are really good
together... As for Scott think Craig was right
that not all people can be taught to dance....
Want Anton and Judy to stay in for a long time
Also don't think the judges should keep saying
to the two in the dance off, that they should not
Be in the dance off as there marks and the phone
vote puts them there 😃😃

I think Judy has struck the right level of self-awareness: "I know I'm rubbish but I'm enjoying it and trying to improve". She has revealed a sense of humour which was a pleasant surprise to me, having only seen glimpses of her looking dour at tennis matches (to the extent I have been inspired to start following her on Twitter) and she and Anton seem to have really hit it off. He seems to be enjoying it more than he has for years. Their ITT interviews are good fun and their VT on Saturday made me laugh, which is near-unprecedented. She does has appeared to have made slight improvement and has loosened up since the beginning of the series. Based on all that and the fact I thought she was better than Scott on Sat, I sent one free online vote her way for the first time.

Scott doesn't do it for me. I find his routines cringeworthy without any levity to balance it, he does across as paying lip service to enjoying it while hating every minute which makes me feel uncomfortable and sucks any possible enjoyment out of watching him, and I haven't yet warmed to Joanne, although that might be in part because she too is being forced down a "comedy" path and hasn't been given a chance to show what she can really do. I haven't seen any improvement in his dancing either.

In short, neither of them can dance but for reasons other than pure dance talent, I find Judy entertaining; Scott not.

It's time people stopped claiming that Judy (or other random Scots) are simply 'getting the Scottish vote'.

Thom didn't 'get the Scottish vote', and he played rugby for Scotland!!

They are like twin stars glistening in the firmament. Heavenly lights of hope for lovers of dance everywhere and the personification of what Strictly is all about.

Long may they reign.
