Missy. It has come to my attention.. [Potential Spoiler?]

I really don't know if this is of any consequence at all but Missy seems to wear a distinctive bracelet in the promotional images.

I was wondering if anyone thought this was similar to a certain other person in the history of Doctor Who that liked wearing bracelets.. I can name one.

Clara's wearing the same one in what was thought to be her exit scene the episode after.

It's more likely that it's a device for teleporting in & out the nethersphere or some such than Missy being Clara though, in my 'umble opinion any road.

If you are going to start a thread about a theory you have at least tell people what the theory is rather than force them to guess it,

Oh, I don't know. At least the OP can't be accused of blowing any spoilers!

Well, I wasn't sure whether Im allowed or it is good form to post something that may be correct! I did post on the spolier and info coming in thread but no one seems convinced I think ha ha.

New to the forum an all that.. so not sure how to hide in a spoiler thingy!

Anyway suffice to say Missy's bracelets look a lot like another female timelord once featured in old Who..

And in Deep Breath a rather large dinosaur was featured with the tardis inside. The above mentioned female timelord and her tardis also had a bit of an encounter with a dinosaur last time we saw her I believe..

So there you go!

I agree, was just pointing it out.

Thank you, Sebastian" said Miss Yvonne Hartman.

Just been listening to Tracy Ann Oberman in the 8th Doctor story The Resurrection of Mars.

The 8th Doctor mentions that he loves Dinosaurs which we see later with both the 11th and 12th Doctors.

I was rewatching The Snowmen yesterday and noticed the governess's name was never mentioned, even in the newspaper clip that the great intelligence had. So that's another possible Missy and how many Missys could there be?

Missy Governess

A reviewer who's seen the ep on Gallifrey Base says it's pretty obvious from the stuff before the reveal that she's The Master.

Master Missy or Missy Master?

Mystery Missy

Missy is the Rani? I still hope she's not, and I genuinely can't see it happening.

This quote from the director -
The other day when we were doing ADR, adding in the dialogue, the ADR technician slammed the console and said 'oh my God, really? Really?'
It was classic, and I thought yes, it's going to work!

makes it sound like Missy's unveiling is something really surprising. With silly rumours of the Rani's return every time we see a female villain over the past 10 years I can't see it being THAT surprising if it is her. It doesn't seem very Moffat-ish. Unless he's perpetrated some horrible double bluff.

But the second part of Rachel Talalay's quote: "I thought, yes, it's going to work" also suggests to me that the secret of who Missy is, is something really quite unusual, something that we'd never have previously thought of. To simply bring back a cheesy female villain from the 1980s, a villain that hardly any of the viewers will have heard of, seems very underwhelming, especially for the Big Finale Cliffhanger.

I hope, so much, that she isn't the Rani. I really hope the Missy saga concludes with something far more original.

As an aside - serial WWW (3W) is Invasion of the Dinosaurs ...

3W is the mysterious organisation in Dark Water/Death in Heaven.

Just saying

So you're saying that Missy is really Professor Whittaker? And Peter Miles was also in Doctor Who And The Silurians - and there was a (sort of) T Rex in that too! It all falls into place. Well, possibly, I think...

Nope - just the link to the dinosaurs as mentioned earlier in the thread

Apart from 'Miss (Oswald)' and 'Missy' the only connection I can link to Clara is when the Doctor tells her ' I am not your boyfriend' in Deep Breath (?)

Missy refers to the Doctor as 'My boyfriend' in one of her appearances.

I am hoping it isn't some sort of vengeful future Clara...I dont know..depends how it is written.

Well, she could be a vengeful Clara-splinter - the ones we saw previously were all around the original's age when we saw them, but presumably some meet the Doctor much earlier or later in their lives?

What if it's a Clara-splinter that's Orson's great-grandmother, not Clara? Would fit the time-travelling-in-the-blood motif.

Unless they are going with the idea that Orson and Danny look identical but are not actually related then Danny has to fit into Orsons family somehow.

So that could mean Danny gets together with a Clara Echo after he and Clara split up or possibly even the other way around.

Maybe Danny was with a Clara echo who got had a child but she later died (possibly even saving an incarnation of the Doctor) and Danny has someone else looking after the Child (the "Family matters" he mentions in Listen).

Or all that stuff about Danny being a Ladykiller, did he kill the Clara Echo?

Not that I believe any of the above is correct but it probably would have to be if Orson was descended from a Clara Echo.

Interesting idea. So we've been spelling it wrong? MISI, not Missy... could be.
Though if she's only a computer or something like that, why would the reveal of Missy / MISI have to be removed from the preview copies?

If that is the case then the missing scenes probably reveal who is controlling the MISI.

I wouldn't rake anything as gospel yet though the acronym could have just been made up to mess with people.

Danny Pink seems to be Clara's boyfriend, so Danny Pink ain't The Doctor. There are cybermen in the forthcoming episodes, so is Missy a cyberwoman, like wonderwoman but victorianly dressed I thought Missy was something to do with The Tardis but you can never be sure with all that goes on in Doctor Who.

The Doctor- Let go of what's real, Clara, love will find you.
Clara- Already done that, what next?, think quickly
