Ola To Re-New Contract?
As you may know, I'm hopelessly in love with Ola.
Saw her on The One Show tonight and she was asked if this is her last year. She said she hopes not but the contracts are only yearly. I get the impression she will leave since her hubbie has been booted off. I'd rather she left him and not the show! |

We've talked about this before.
I think she won't be invited back next year when they sort out the contracts. The BBC will be happy to replace her with a "competent, but comparative nobody," who's ten years younger than her. They don't want too many pros who will be better known than many of next year's "C-listers." |

She's getting on in years, James hasn't helped her cause and she's made no secret of the fact that she wants to start a family sooner rather than later. This will be her swansong I feel. Shame as she is my favourite professional dancer, but, times mpove on

Watch her anxious face when the results are announced, it expresses an air of "impending doom." You can see she desperately wants to stay. |

I like the fact that's she's so competitive, even with her husband.

Yes I can do without her pivots at times but she is very good at bringing the best out of her contestants imo (really teaching them the basics ) . I also dont think that she wants to leave the show so if she doesnt come back next year, it wont be her decision imo. |

We have no idea what the producers will decide. They have made dumb judgements before. Thats why we have so few pros left with any substantial name recognition. Thats compunded by their efforts to spread the wins around - which mean that the better pros don't get given much chance of a second, let alone a third. win.
Ola seems to want to return. She only said once she wanted to start a family , and she can do that when she wants to . She's doing fine this year with no James. There's no case to remove her . She's one of the most liked female pros, - in a field where some are still unknowns. She's doing a good job with her contestant - who is one of the very few with a journey story this year . She probably brings in more male viwers than anyone else. She's also been one pro whose choregraphy has been complimented by the judges this year. She knows what the job entails, what can and should be done, better than most, and she teaches well and produces the goods. They would also run into problems if they tried to replace her because of something her husband said. |

Ola is holding her own, she is a strong and successful woman and doesn't require her husband holding her hand to do well.
She has a very good pupil in Steve, roll on this week's charleston

I think it might depend - if she manages to get Steve to the sharp-end of the competition it might be a bit tricky for the BBC to not invite her back for next.
If however Steve is off in the next 3 weeks or so then it's easier for them not to invite her back. She's doing just fine without James - in some ways association with him could have been said to he holding her back before. |

It does kind of scotch the stories that she would bow out of her own accord next year in order to start a family.

I'm one of the few who wouldn't miss her. I'd rather have kept James than her tbh and i don't miss him either.
Far too much self promotion going on and talking to the press for my tastes. |

I don't think Ola is doing any more self promotion than anyone else is. She is appearing on various BBC shows like all of the other contestants, and the recent so called "interviews" seem to have been rehashed from one she gave a while ago in the depths of the off season.
She seems to be doing just fine without James - and she is getting a LOT out of Steve, and i hope that they continue to do well in the competition. He's a tryer and works hard, and she is a good teacher who works to the celebs strengths. I would miss her if she wasn't there next year - Id rather see Kristina or karen go than Ola! |

For some reasoon Ola is one of those professionals whom I watch rather than the contestant. Can't help it, no matter how hard I try. Iveta is the same.
So I would miss Ola. |
