When she picked the cigarette up out of the bin with the cake, what was it which made her scared?

The ciggie was Nick's brand.

Agreed. She recognised the fag butt as the type which Nick smokes. That and the fact she caught a glimpse of him has reinforced for her that he is still alive and in Walford including in her house.

Yeh, what a waste of swiss roll that was I thought it was hilarious when Nick cut in and picked it up with that huge knife though!

Perhaps there were some scripts in there and she saw months and months ahead of her of having to work with the worst Panto villain ever seen on screen.

LOL at some of the comments. Anything's better than the snake thing and the missing meat but I think finding the cake in the bin with Nick's ciggie butt in it was quite funny. Poor Dot.

The poor woman already thinks she saw a glimpse of him which alarmed her.

And now she retrieves a cake with a cigarette stubbed out in it from her kitchen bin. The same brand of cigarette her son smokes and stubbing a tab out in a cake would be just the kind of thing he'd do.

Now she is scared and bewildered, she might even think she's going round the bend.

Personally speaking, I quite like a good Panto Villain, as long as they're not TOO Panto like Derek Branning was. Don't think "Nasty Nick" Cotton is quite as bad as, and is actually on Derek's level though, tbf

But each to their own, and I can well appreciate that Panto Villains in soaps, or TV generally, aren't to everybody's tastes, however

it was predictable really..No one else smokes apart from Dot herself..Plus why didn't Dot ask who has been smoking as Nick was puffing on ciggy after ciggy , and blew soke in Ronnie's face, the room would be full of it..

As Dot regularly smokes in her kitchen, it would be a bit silly of her to ask "who's been smoking?"

I think it would've been better continuity if it was one of Dot's Battenberg's...
