Excellent question, guessing a cabin trunk for each contestant arrives via the back door. I have a supplementary question: how do some 12 contestants (++) all manage to get out of bed, shower, shave, sort out their hair (including blow drying) and do their make-up .. not to mention making breakfast ... arrive outside suited and booted in time for the arrival of the cars 20 minutes later?

Definitely separate cases - and does anyone seriously believe they all get ready in "20 minutes"?!? That's just said to create a sense of urgency the start of every episode and allow for some set-up "running around in a hurry" shots. There's no way they could all get ready in that time, particularly not with a film crew running around them.

According to past candidates they only pack enough clothes for a night or two in their suitcases, and are then taken back to the house when everyone's out on a task to pick up the rest of their stuff.

Plus the "walking to taxi" scene is filmed at the start of the process (I think?) so its just for effect anyway.

Yes, it's the first thing that's filmed.
All of them film their 'taxi exit' scene.
Note when they go to the taxi, they are not wearing the same clothes that they've been fired in.

And they all wear big overcoats and scarves!

Funny you asked this now - I was wondering exactly the same thing last night. There must have been a shot that triggered the thought.

Lol it's a TV show. It's not even a real boardroom, and those are unlikely to be their real suitcases.

The suitcases are real... sort of. As I said up-thread, they just contain enough clothes for the candidate to spend a night or two in a hotel, then go back to the house and collect the rest of their belongings while the other candidates are out on a task.

The only real answer can be that the BBC use their patented TARDIS technology on the suitcases.

Easyjet are terrified they'll become available on the open market.
