From tomorrow you can pick up the HTC for £299 at Vodafone stores or £279 from Tesco online. Both will need unlocking if on any other network.

Are you sure it's the m8 and not the m7?

Very tempted at this price. I have been looking to replace my S3 & this could be it.

Bargain, about the same as I paid for mine second hand only months ago.

£15 for Sunshine or whatever its called to unlock S-OFF, and a couple of hours of your time to convert to Google Play Edition; another £20 on a 64Gb memory card, and come a few weeks, you'll have an 80Gb, aluminium, Android Lollipop running beast for half the price of an iPhone 6. Can't go wrong!

Possibly a few months. Didn't htc say they would update within 90 days of the final release of 5.0?

Why do you need to pay, unlocking the bootloader is free from HTC?

Unlocking the bootloader is free, yes, but unlocking S-OFF requires use of the Sunshine tool which is £15. Unless that is you were lucky enough not to have upgraded from 4.4.2 in which case you can use a free tool. Without S-OFF, you ain't flashing any ROMs.

Ahh, I had an M8 before 4.4.4 that's why I could do it for free. Thanks a lot for confirming

Worth mentioning you get 100Gb free Google Drive storage with the HTC. That's a nice freebie. Excellent phones for that money, effectively an iPhone 6 equivalent (and then some) for half the cost. Can't go wrong.

Yes, but they are locked to Vodafone. So will need unlock codes. I want to upgrade from my Samsung s3 but can't decide which to go for.

How good is that HTC camera?

The deal gone live on the website, I have both the HTC One M8 for £289 and Samsung Galaxy S5 for £279 in my basket and I'm having a funny turn because I can't justify buying either of them
