This programme went out last Saturday (the 25th) and i cannot believe no one else has posted about it. Anyway, journalists Julia Hartley-Brewer & Nick Ferrari had to choose between DW, Sport in 1996, Scottish Music & Eighteenth Century Cinema... So of course they went for the obvious one!

The whole show is pretty enteratining i thought, the DW bit starts at 40 min although this link will be only available until Saturday at 5:30 PM.

If you're reading this after the deadline...

I saw that last week. My answers were

The third answer in the first category

The sixth answer in the second category (having ruled out most of the others as too obvious!)

An answer that isn't listed in the third category.

None of the 100 people they asked knew who played Romana's second regeneration? What are the chances of asking 100 people and not finding a single Doctor Who fan among them?

The contestants were unlucky with Ian McKellen, because he was the voice of the Great Intelligence's incorporeal form, before he took over Simeon (Richard E Grant)'s body. So he was a Doctor Who villain, but not the Master!

John Levene was Sergeant Benton, and yeah, he shouldn't have counted, he's a UNIT soldier, not a companion.

Its not just a question of finding Dr Who fans (who also know the 4th gen era) - they also have a time limit of just a minute or so. Given Laila married Tom it is perhaps a little surprising but she hasn't really been an iconic companion like Sarah Jane Smith, Leela, K9 or even Harry Sullivan.

Count me as another one who's surprised that Lalla Ward was pointless.

My answers were Geoffrey Beevers, Eric Roberts and Matthew Waterhouse, although I did flirt with John Leeson, too before deciding that Waterhouse would be more obscure. Surprised that Eric Roberts wasn't pointless.
