thing is i can only get it from argos. I won some argos vouchers so might as well use it on a phone

argos dont seem to have any deals tbh. Not sure if i should fork out 500 on the m8 when my contract is due for upgrade on october!

To be honest if you are looking at that price and Argos:

http://www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Prod...er/2786315.htm

Nexus 5 is still a pretty decent phone !

Or even cheaper the moto g is a very respectable handset for the price

But the m8 is £200 more expensive than your budget if you have to buy from Argos

M8 and nexus 5 each have pros and cons. The m8 is a very pretty phone.

But as for whether its stupid it really is up to you and will depend on your finances

Oh and it also depends on what you use the phone for.

All will make calls
All will have Facebook/twitter/internet
All have a camera for quick snaps and selfies.

The moto g will run most games but would be the slowest of the three.

The nexus 5 will get the new version of android in the coming weeks.

Quite a nice comparison here. The nexus 5 is a year old (the m8 is newer) but it looks like it will be around for another 12 months. The big draw is that its about half the price of the m8.

http://mobile.pcadvisor.co.uk/review...arison-review/

But if I were you I'd make a short list and then nip into a store tomorrow where you can see them side by side and compare - then nip to Argos and buy your chosen one

Nexus 6 is a very different beast and will be way above the £300 mark (sadly). Prices should be out in the next few days but could be a similar price to the Argos m8 price.

But you have logged into google device manager and tried to locate it?

Lol. Which to get ? Nobody can decide that for you. Both will do the same things for you

I have a nexus 5 but the m8 is a lovely phone too. have a look at them in a shop and decide. Choosing is half the fun

You could buy the phone, and when it comes to October, you can opt for a sim-only deal. That will work out cheaper than getting a phone and sim contract.

Its what I have done this time. Bought the phone from an on-line retailer, then got a 12 month sim only contract for £13 (unlimited minutes and texts, 6GB 4G data and sky sports for 6 months).

Ask at the train lost property dept and the Police, there are still honest people about.

If you can get into a Vodafone shop today they're doing the M8 for way less than £300.

I had a look on Argos and you could even get yourself an iPhone for a penny under £300

Otherwise, you seem to be restricted to a range of Samsung phones and it would be up to you to take your pick. I'm a bit biased against Samsung as I once had a Samsun Ace (I think it was the first generation which came out) which was shite. It keep turning itself off at random and was laggy as hell. But some here probably swear by Samsung.
