Anyone think certain celebs are getting better edits than others? Hence why there staying in and quality couples like Thom and Iveta have left. I don't think pixie or Frankie are shown in a good light at all wheras Alison and Scott are obviously shown very well in their VTs. Hate to say it but BBC are deliberately manipulating for shocks and have a big grin on their faces for doing so.

So the BBC want Thom and Iveta gone because ... it makes a good conspiracy theory? I'm of the personal belief that the VTs are deliberately made to look very amateur and that will inevitably lead to uneven quality, to put it mildly. Maybe they work harder on some VT than others but ultimately a good celeb with good dancing will stay out of the week 4 dance off regardless of the VT.

I think training videos are edited to make them look "entertaining."

What the editor thinks is entertaining, is up to them. I'm sure a lot more footage is taken than what we ever see. I guess they all have their "moments."

I agree with you, absolutely, though I'm not sure of all their purposes - I don't think it's always just for shocks. But the long-term goal, at least I think, is to produce the most entertaining show they can and keep ratings high. Sometimes I think they're wrong about who to prop and who to plop - and it would be a better show if they just let things happen without interference - but nope - it's never gonna be that way . I think they're constantly micro-managing everything, from edits to song and dance choices to choreography... well, everything they can think of to manipulate.

Quality couples like Thom and Iveta have left because the wonderful public keep on voting for complete duffers in their droves.

More "quality" than a couple of the couples left in the competition. By some distance.

I don't think the edits favour any couples more than the others, but the show has always edited what we see of each couple. Every reality show does that though.

I think the judges had them fourth from bottom, so only two out of the DO places. So they can't really complain - the public vote only dropped them two places on the leaderboard. That doesn't require a big swing in the public vote.
