Just back from Poland and in my hotel room there were some T-Mobile SIM's offering 1GB of data for 30 days (including tethering) for just 15PLN (about £3). You can add some voice and texts for very little extra.

At the airport Orange and Plus were offering the same 1GB (30 days max) for 10 PLN (£2) including LTE (4G) if you have a compatible handset or device. Voice and text extra but seem cheap enough although I did not check the cost of International calls which is where they may be hoping to make the margin on these deals.

If travelling to Poland I would advise ditching the UK mobile SIM and using a local one. You can keep in touch with Viber, Whatsapp and Skype with the data allowance and save a fortune on roaming charges.

I can't think of a better reason for getting some tickets for Poland.

But wait.... I'm on an EE extra plan with unlimited minutes and texts from Poland to any other EU country.
Anyone know what the EU data addons cost once you get to an EU country?

It's the data deals that are interesting in Poland. Those seem to be the attractive thing for travellers. I have used Plus and whilst it claims to be LTE it is nowhere near as fast as the service I get locally with EE. 10Mbps on LTE is normal in Poland compared with 25-35Mbps in Glasgow on EE. Perfectly usable for most things though.
