My BT YouView box updated its software this morning, and ever since then the time-slip function has been almost unusable.

If I rewind live TV to continue watching from an earlier time, the playback continues for a few minutes, but will then suddenly jump back to the live broadcast for no reason. No on-screen displays, it just freezes momentarily, then snaps back to live broadcast and I have to rewind again to find where I was up to to continue watching - which I can do for about 2min if I'm lucky, then it jumps back to live again.

I powered off and back on again, and this seemed to fix the issue for a while, but it's now started doing the same again.

Also, while watching a recording earlier, part way through watching, the playback suddenly stopped, and the box said "playback of recording complete" and I had to manually find where I was up to in the recording to continue watching.

I suspect these two symptoms are related. I regret updating the software now

Hi Fingerbobs

I've had the Humax DTR T2100 since July 2014 and the same fault symptoms as yours started 3 days ago. After rewinding live TV, the playback continues for about 2 minutes, freezes, then it jumps back to live TV. Also, when starting to play a previously recorded program I get 'Playback of Recording Complete' and I need to start the program again.

Another sympton of the 'rewinding live TV fault' is that if I rewind all the way to the beginning, it jumps back to live TV. I must rewind then press play just before the start of the temporary recording.

In addition, the last three programs I recorded on Series record from the Guide should have been either 30 mins or 1 hour long. The results were: the first recorded 7 seconds, the second recorded O.K. and the third recorded 2 minutes.

Pressing the Standby button on the top of the box for 10 seconds had no effect and it would not reboot. So powered off at the rear switch. Tested for 'rewind live TV fault' and it still failed.

Managed to reboot successfully from the standby button and it's been working O.K. for 1 day so far. Still do not trust it though, so recording duplicate programs on my FoxSat HDR.

My last software update date was in Nov 2014.
